Attended a 'Fundamentals of Photography' session today with my daughter who has recently purchased her first digi SLR - friendly and very well presented to the group. Good run through the complicated settings of a camera and quick start on getting the best images in various surroundings. I have just used this studio for the first time to do a shoot. I am very impressed. Nice wee studio with plenty of equipment to use, clean studio with great changing area and friendly polite staff, I have another few days booked already and I will definitely use this studio again when I need it. Attended fundamentals course and the walking course, found both very informative and as a beginner feel a lot more confident now. Dreghorn ran a Photographic walkabout on 20th Oct as part of the Glasgow Open Day event. Stuart and Kim were excellent and worked through the camera settings before we even set off, Stuart knew about Canon , Nikon and even Sony Settings. He was very helpful at each venue we visited, helping each of us get the best from our cameras. He made sure we knew what settings were required and how to capture the best from each location even though some were quite busy.
Kim was also there to help and made sure the event went really well. She even had time to discuss some Olympus Pen questions I had. More...

5 hr studio hire - excellent results.
Stuart (Dreghorn) was exceptional in advice and setup. The premises and setup, equipment and facilities were not to be faulted, small, but due my to client brief this was measured and more than acceptable for this particular shoot.
I will also now be looking at the tuition side that is offered by the studio, quite simply because of the professionalism and expertise already experienced by Dreghorn studio's.... More...

We had a fabulous portrait session with our 4 dogs at the weekend, Stuart and Kim (and Sherlock!) were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed. We were given plenty of time to get the dogs settled and used to their surroundings and the equipment, and as a result the dogs were very relaxed. I hired the studio for the first time on Monday and was very impressed with the space, equipment & service. My clients were very satisfied and commented on what a great studio it was with great changing room facilities and also commented on the good temperature as many studios can be very cold!

I was booked in advance for a studio day at Dreghorn Studios today and I have to say, it has to be one of the best studios I've had the pleasure of shooting at.

Immediately greeted by the studio assistant (Kim) at the door, offered a hot drink and and shown to my very warm and comfortable dressing room. A very spacious area where I was immediately comfortable to unpack my things and relax.

I was introduced to the six photographers who I'd be shooting with, shown the studio space and told the procedures in case of fire, etc, which was very reassuring.

The equipment is incredibly impressive! A very tidy workspace, spacious due to the rail rigs for the lighting, so no messy cables on the floor, and just the right temperature too. The shoot went incredibly well too, with everyone being comfortable enough to bounce ideas about and plan the shots. Needless to say, the three hours flew in!

I would love to shoot at Dreghorn Studios again, and I thoroughly recommend it! More...

This was a 4 hour shoot with a model. The studio is small but entirely functional with plenty of lights, modifiers, backgrounds and other kit. I have recently completed the 4 week Introduction to Photoshop and 4 week Introduction to Photography courses at Dreghorn Photography Studio. Both of these were superb and took me much further than I would have thought possible in 4 weeks. I had never used Photoshop before, having been put off by the first look of the interface. I can now edit out flaws in my photos using a well considered workflow. I have been photographing for many years but have only rarely got myself off Intelligent Auto mode and not really known what I was doing. Now I can use P, S and A modes and produce more creative and informed photographs. Stuart is a very knowledgeable, adaptable and patient tutor. Each two hour session gives plenty of material and space to practise while homework assignments provide opportunity to put new found skills to use between classes. The classes are small in number which means there is time for response to individual needs. Once I have honed my skills in both areas I will be back for more. Thanks Stuart! More...

I took one of Stewarts intermediate courses, it was great. He is very helpful and patient with all the students. Ive also visited his studio with a camera club that l am a member of, for training nights and always found them very informative and enjoyable. I studied NC Photography 2014/15 before returning to do HNC 2015/16, at West Collage Scotland (Clydebank Campus) where part of the course work involved a video interview, l contacted Stewart via email to ask if he would allow us to interview him he replied the next day with a list of dates to pick from. Could only switch my camera on before attending the fundamentals course, which I got for christmas. Thoroughly enjoyed the session which flew by and meeting likeminded camera owners! ! Most importantly I can now use and understand my camera.

I attended the 4 hour fundamentals of photography course at the weekend and absolutely loved it! The course content was perfect for beginners looking to learn more about their camera and gain confidence in moving out of the preset and auto modes. Went on the beginners course and right from the start it was first class. Stuart was suffering from a sore throat and was very professional in not letting this hinder our learning experience. We were made to feel comfortable and at ease with our limited knowledge and the way the course was conducted allowed you to learn and take in what you were being told. As you would expect on such a course questions were asked but if I'm honest not as many as I would have thought and I put that down to they way the course was delivered and the content in it. I must add that all questions that were asked were answered in an easy to understand fashion. If you are looking to just understand your camera and get some idea of what contributes to making your photos turn out the way you'd hoped, then I would strongly recommend a course with Dreghorn Photography.

I received this course as a gift and it has been the best gift ever. The course is fantastic and I truly mean it. At the course I learned things about my camera I never knew and how to take it off the dreaded "Auto" mode with confidence. So much so that I used the manual settings at my son's graduation and what a difference to be in control of the cameral and the picture. All this was achieved through my course with Dreghorn Photograpghy and I will be back. If you have a DSLR you need Dreghorn Photograpghy to show how to get the best out of your camera, your hobby and your skill.

Stuart at Dreghorn Photography has been a great help to myself learning how to get the best use out of my dslr in terms that i understand. I have done a day class with him where he had a variety of people at different levels all with a wide variety of camera & i feel he was more than capable to help us all get the best out of our cameras in a nice simple manner. I then took part in a 4 day course which expanded my knowledge more but where i feel i have benefited most was in his one to one tuition where i can get the knowledge that suits me & my needs which does seem to be never ending! Stuart puts you at ease with the camera & its functions, for me the best part is explaining it in lay mans terms, not trying to baffle me with terminology that i don't understand, i think in such a specialist field is a rarity. I went on the half day walking course and had a brilliant day. I have only recently got my DSLR and the course has really helped me to understand my cameras different functions and settings and how to use them to take amazing pictures. Stuart is extremely knowledgeable. The 4 hour intro course was packed with information. The class number was small so Stuart could give individual advice based on particular camera or preferences. Stuart managed to fit a lot into the 4 hours all of which I've found invaluable in helping me better understand my camera.
