Q&As

I have been conducting psychotherapy for over 14 years. I received my bachelor's degree from Rutgers University where I was a Henry Rutgers Scholar, and my Master's degree and Ph.D. form Saint Louis University. I completed an APA-accredited internship at Beth Israel Medical Center (now Mount Sinai Beth Israel) in New York City. I am board-certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). I have served as past President of the Missouri Psychological Association (MOPA). I am trained in several evidence-based psychotherapies including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Problem-Solving Therapy. Regardless of the approach used, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship, characterized by empathy, warmth, genuineness and positive regard is the foundation of any effective treatment.

Services

I offer therapy services for adolescents and adults for a variety of concerns including:
-Adjustment
-PTSD
-Depression
-Anxiety
-Coping with medical diagnoses
-Bereavement

I also have a special interest in working with Veterans, individuals who identify as LGBT, and individuals coping with co-morbid medical/health issues.

I offer comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. The evaluations are offered individually or as an initial step in beginning therapy. Psychological assessment is used to determine the presence of behavioral health concerns and differentiate between possible diagnoses (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD). The results of the evaluation are used to make treatment recommendations and provide information to the patient and his or her providers. I utilize a variety of assessment procedures including interviewing, standardized self-report measures and qualitative observation. Psychological assessments may take place in one session or may be divided between several sessions. Patients will be provided feedback regarding the findings of the assessment, diagnoses and recommendations. They will also be provided a written report of the findings and recommendations.
