Willie at Nebraska K9 Academy is indeed a dog whisper. My wife and I were weary of moving forward because this was our first dog and a hefty price tag, but wow! We received what we paid for and more. Do not recommend. Went to see my 4 mo old pup 7 days into a board/train program with this facility. She looked terrified, her eyes were red and puffy. I immediately got her into the vet, Mr Dove says he didn’t see whatever I was seeing as far as illness and acted as if I was overreacting. However, the vet diagnosed and treated her for CONTAGIOUS pink eye and ear infection. Mr. Dove was more concerned with telling me that if I didn’t bring her back within 24hrs I forfeit her spot and lose the monies paid for this “training”. Not once did he ask about her health or if there was something they needed to address in the facility etc. He avoided my questions and concerns with no regard. Do your research before taking your pet to any boarding/kenneling place. You CANT trust Google reviews or any reviews for that matter as they can be false and negatives hidden or removed. Response: The reasons for removing my pup and all of the above statements are true and documented from our text conversations, where at no point did I remove her for financial. As you noted I took out a loan to ensure that you were paid for your service. When you did not provide clear updates, made inappropriate un-business like comments towards me etc. and the main fact my dog was sick, I removed her. If it was anything financial wouldn’t I fulfill the training since it’s paid for? No one in a financial bind would willingly lose over $2000 just because we miss a pet. She was removed due to Illness, lack of transparency, falsely advertising what your business was providing etc. Also I suggest reading said training agreement under the “services” section. Also you never said anything about an in home program in the future. I was told it was not an option. More...

Dove's Dog Academy has been very helpful in training my dog. He has gone to their facility two times and has learned so much both times. He came back a different dog each time around. He listens so much better and knows commands. We are now able to go on walks with him without pulling since we are using his gentle leader and the use of his e-collar has made a huge difference in listening. We had a big problem when I got married and moved to a new house with my dog Sophie. She had so much anxiety and fear she was acting out in aggressive behavior. I am so grateful I found Willie and Doves Dog Academy because she is a new dog! She spent three weeks in the board and train program. We brought our 6 year old bloodhound rescue to Dove's because of his severe agresiveness towards men and his constant pulling while walking. Roscoe had been a street dog for a couple years and Willie agreed with our opinion that he had been severely traumatized. After 3 weeks of doggie boot camp at Dove`s the difference is almost unbelievable. After 3 days at home his barking at strangers near the house is more appropriate, walking him is a breeze and when meeting strangers his demeanor is watchful, but no aggression and he is happy to get to get some petting and ear scratching. My dog Charlie a 4 months old German shepherd I brought him here for the 3 week k9 retreat board training and by the time he was done he had changed so much. He’s been very socialized and he listens to everything we tell him not to mention that Charlie would get aggressive at times and bite but not now he doesn’t. Willie and his team have been amazing to work with. He's very easy to get along with, and always has an amazing attitude when you step into his space. Willie's dedication to his practice and quality of education is palpable, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about each dog's (and handler's!) success. My pup and I attend his group classes, they are among the most affordable in town and the quality of education is beyond compare. Willie keeps class sizes small so he is still able to pay special attention to each pup and handler. He also provides extra assistance with 1 one-on-one session per week, which made the most difference for me as a handler. He is always quick to answer any question we might have, is understanding and flexible, and goes above and beyond with assuring that each handler and dog is well taken care of in his space. My daughter sent her dog to the board and train program for separation anxiety and kennel training. He has severe anxiety when it comes to the kennel. He broke out of 3 crates while in the program. They also put a muzzle on him overnight and put him in the crate. He scratched at the muzzle so hard to get it off that his neck was bloody and raw. See pic below. I don’t understand why they would crate a dog and leave him alone when that’s what he has anxiety from. So after they took him to the vet he now is in 3 different meds for his wounds and Trazodone for anxiety the vet suggested ending the program. He was at the facility for 9/of the 14 days and my daughter has paid a total $2600 plus $208 for the vet bill and absolutely nothing to show for it except a traumatized wounded dog. Also found out they are NOT STATE LICENSED. I wouldn’t recommend taking your precious pets to this facility!! More...

I sent a short novel to Mr. Dove regarding a dog belonging to a family member that im helping to care for while his daddy is recovering from health issues asking for advice on the best way to handle some issues that we were having. Im on the east coast, and i didnt expect a return call so quickly but Mr. Dove called me back alot faster than i thought id get a response and we spoke regarding the situation and he gave me some tips and pointers on what to try to handle things. He was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. All thats left to do now.is do what he suggested. I definitely feel alot better after speaking with Mr. Dove. Mr. Dove's approach was/is perfectly suited for the way my dog is motivated. He was equally capable of understanding my dog's behavior, and conveying that in an understandable, and actionable way to both myself and my wife. He needed only a short amount of time to observe the issues we were having and spent the rest of the training sessions explaining them to us, and training is on the steps needed to train him. I would like to share my experience that i had with Dove’s dog academy. Specifically Willie Dove (owner).I first contacted Willie Oct 12. about service dog training classes for my pup. We had the initial meet & greet and everything seemed to go well. I signed the contract and paid the outrageous amount of $1600. for the 4 week “couch potato” program. At first, Willie appears to be very well spoken & knowledgeable but don’t let that fool you. It’s all fake. He is the most unprofessional, & unorganized person I’ve ever had to deal with. When we initially met he had asked me to fill out this questionaire form before we started the program and when I told him I didn’t have access to a printer right away he told me he would print it out and bring it to me. He never did. Then he said he would mail it to me. He never did. So now the trust is broken. Our very 1st session was supposed to be Oct. 26 at 9 am. By 9:15 when he hasn’t showed I texted him and said you were supposed to be here at 9 and he says oh I’m sorry I thought I had you scheduled for 11. Well that was my turning point. I told him I wanted to cancel my contract & to please refund my money. Well he tried to come up with reasons & explanations to stay on including that his daughter was in the ER the night before with covid- but I had seen enough- I was done. He tried to tell me that there would be no refund once service started but I had to tell him no service has started. Then he told me I was only eligible for 1/2 my money back. Wow! … so I fired him due to his incompetence & now I feel robbed of $800. As much as I didn’t want him to keep that money I signed a contract so that’s on me. Fine! Take the $800 and send me my refund. People, it took him until today Jan 18th to FINALLY get my refund and that’s after I had to threaten to sue him and take him to small claims court!! He played word games with me and told me he mailed the check- the check was returned, blah blah blah- any excuse he could give to procrastinate and evade paying me back! This company is a FRAUD! He’s a FRAUD!! I think he doesn’t even own dogs!! His main job is at Forest Lawn cemetery!! If you are looking for a experienced, knowledgeable, & trustworthy company for dog training I HIGHLY recommend United Paws. https://unitedpawsdogtraining.com/ I can’t begin to tell you the hell and agony it took to get my refund.
