I truly enjoyed working with Doug. I contacted him because I wanted to have updated photos of myself that I could post on my website. I own a music school on Long Island. I was very happy with the pictures! The turn over time in receiving them was quite quick and I loved that the retouch process was minimal. I believe this is because he knows how to take great pictures. He helped me with outfit choices and the make up artist he recommend did a great job. Doug recently worked with my daughter on her head shots, and soup to nuts it was a fantastic experience. Scheduling was quick, pricing was clear and fair, the shoot day was smooth and downright delightful, and he got back to us VERY quickly with the gallery. The pictures were stunning. It was an absolute pleasure working with Doug! The first thing he did when I inquired about a session was to call me to discuss what my goals were for the session and what looks I was trying to convey, so that he could target the photos accordingly. The session felt collaborative from beginning to end, and Doug was great at providing guidance on how to achieve specific shots, checking that I liked the way I looked as we changed styles, discussing background options to set the tone for each look, and then keeping me going when I was getting tired at the end. I'm an actor who gets called in for many different types of roles. Doug not only understood the unique needs of a character performer. He also knew exactly how to produce amazing shots that my agent loves. His images open doors for me. I was looking for a headshot photographer for a few months and Doug was an answer to my prayers. I wanted good quality head shots and he delivered above and beyond. From the start he was transparent and helpful with the process; he answered all my questions either over the phone or by email in a very timely manner. His website provided every helpful tip and tool needed to pull off great headshots. I even hired the makeup artist through Douglas Gorenstein Photography and she was awesome and a major help; therefore I even recommend the people he works with because they are great as well. After I took my headshots, he continued to be patient and helpful. During the session he knew what to say and do to get the perfect shot. My shoot with Doug was Friday afternoon. On Sunday morning, I awoke to his email with my contacts. We corresponded back and forth about various images and with his input, I made my choices that evening. I had the lightly retouched finals mid-afternoon Monday and was delighted with the results.The shoot itself was fun and relaxed.
