Doug McBride did the photographs and video for both of my daughters weddings. He, and his staff, were extremely professional. They captured the entire day and while the camera was always around they were not at all intrusive of the wedding party's getting ready or during the actual ceremonies. We were so impressed with Doug's services (and his prices) that when my second daughter got married she never considered anyone else. I would completely recommend Doug and his staff. Doug was amazing to work with. I met him at a wedding expo in West Des Moines, and he happened to be free for our date 9/20/2015. We were trying to keep our costs down and he worked with our budget, he did both our photography and videography for us with one assistant over two hours of the day. We got married in Walnut Woods (where he'd also been married back in the day) - he knew the location and was able to knock out our post-ceremony couples pictures quickly, getting us back to the party fast with great results. He was very observant, he got quotes from different family members, when he realized it was my brother in the band, he made sure to get a couple of songs of theirs on video, which when I saw later made me SO happy (I'd forgotten to tell him it was my brother's band). And the turnaround was so fast - we had our discs in hand within a month after the ceremony (possibly a week, but I don't want to talk that up too much, I'm sure it helped that we weren't married in June). We've watched our wedding video at least a dozen times since we got it, and the first time we put it in I called Doug to tell him just how incredibly happy we were with the job he'd done. And now that we're a year and a half past the wedding, I can say even more that the money we spent on his services was completely worth it - I'd choose Doug again for my wedding in a heartbeat! Doug McBride was recommended to us by Christiani's Catering and I am so glad that we used him as our photographer for our wedding. My husband is not a fan of having his picture taken and I wasn't interested in spending a ton of time and money on a billion pictures that will only be reviewed in full once every five years or so. We were married October 22, 2016 at the World Food Prize in Des Moines, IA. Doug was our photographer. We have so many beautiful shots from the day. We have good and bad.....

The bad:
1. When the background noise and the music are both playing, it's a little annoying. (One example, when my cousin is singing the Unity Cross song, you can hear her and the music that played over the video.)
2. The wind, train and sirens that can be heard during our interview.
3. I would have liked to see more of my guests dancing and enjoying the reception.
4. The slideshow photos moved a little too fast.

The good:
1. You worked with me financially.
2. You and your boys were a lot of fun and easy to work with at the wedding.
3. You were willing to do something new for me: same-day edit for the reception.
4. You kept in contact with me and even let me watch the video and give my input on changes, etc.
5. We LOVED the individual interviews and the photos with a message from our wedding party -- it was so fun to see what our loved ones had to say!
6. The quality of the photos were sharp.
7. The fact that you do cinematography AND photography (I wasn't able to find anyone else, professionally, who did that).
8. I really could go on and on.

Doug and his team were so helpful! I had know idea what I wanted for photography and he took the time to sit down with me and come up with a list of the things that were important and developed a schedule for me. Let me tell you, on your wedding day you appreciate a schedule. I was impressed with all of the photos and the timely manner that I received the photos. I don't know if it was possible for his team to capture anything else at my wedding. I enjoyed looking back at the photos and couldn't believe how much I missed that day and I am so thankful those moments were caught on photo so that I can enjoy them forever. I loved the sense of humor Doug had throughout the whole day. I was personally nervous and he made the moment light hearted and enjoyable. I loved all of my photos and the experience on the wedding day but I have one experience that stands out as my favorite. Doug took a picture of each of our bridal party members and printed the photos at the wedding and had the bridal party write a special message on the back. The poses were silly and fun and had something to do with a special moment in our lives together. We were given the photos at the end of the night and it was enjoyable to go home with something that was so personal and that we wouldn't have ever had if it wasn't for Doug. Doug was our wedding photographer 4 years ago and did a wonderful job! He brought another photographer with him, so between the two of them, they were able to get all angles of our wedding and took thousands of pictures! They even traveled 2 hours to where our wedding was and stayed the majority of the reception to take pictures. I would recommend them to anyone looking to book a wedding photographer. They did a great job on a corporate video for my company. Very professional staff and easy to get along with. They did everything that I wanted and it came out perfectly. I like the fact that they do not hold the copywrite hostage like many other companies do.I also like the fact that the owner has experience with Hollywood type movies. We used Doug McBride and were extremely happy. The engagement session only lasted 30 minutes and we got over 100 pictures, every one of them is great. Our wedding was in the spring and the photos are the best wedding photos I've ever seen. The bright color of flowers, the bright blue sky and the poses were more than we expected for the price we paid. There were lots of pictures 800 and we ordered an album and it is fantastic.
