Went today with friends and family. Had a very relaxing day. Place is clean. Staff friendly. Felt looked after. Afternoon tea in the Marco room was a delightful space and scrummy cakes. No complaints of any kind from us with regard to our stay at the Doubletree.  Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and it had a humongous television set.  It came with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and all of the "usual suspects" for other things.  Check-in and check-out were both easy and fast.  Zero problems, zero issues plus a surprisingly good room rate = a great experience for us. Enjoyed our stay here.  The lobby is beautiful and has great seating Staff was friendly and helpful. Hilton's offer of coffee and cookies is always fun. Our king room was large. Very comfortable.  Bathrooms were also a nice size.  Carpets throughout are older and need updating. The halls are a bit dated because of this.  The in house restaurant on site was great.  It is owned by an outside company but convenient for dinner.  They offer breakfast but were didn't partake. Two nights here because my customer's office was not too far away. This is a nice property in the Richmond suburbs. I had a clean and comfortable room that was mostly quiet from noise. I could hear some from neighbors and some from the hallway, but the hotel is set back from the road so there was none of that.Breakfast was good with a buffet set up and you could also order something from the kitchen. The scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon worked well for me though. There are also pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit and bread with a toaster. It's pretty decent, through I'm not sure that it's worth $16 if you're not getting it free due to your HiltonHonors elite status.Plenty of parking but the hotel does have some large events so you may have to deal with that.[Review 11950 overall, 1732 of 2019.] More...

We got the room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. We called and they brought sheets up for the sleeper sofa within 5 minutes. We got warm cookies and two bottles of water since we are Hilton honor members.It was very easy to check into the room.Parking was terrible. There is a convention going on but there is no specified spots for people who are staying at the hotel versus those who are coming. They said that we could park across the street. More...

Love the room! We booked ocean front for Labor Day weekend! Love the stay! The beach was so close and all the restaurants were near by. Parking was a plus! We got married here in August and it was honestly the most amazing venue. We liaised with Jemma and from day 1 jemma was always very helpful and available for any questions we had and made the run up to the wedding stress free. On the day we had the lovely Georgina who did an amazing job of making our wedding day run as smoothly as possible, not only was she so helpful and so friendly she also made the abbey suite look exactly how I imagined it would look. The day went so perfectly well food was amazing and would like to thank all staff members who helped out on the day. We will be definitely be returning next year to this amazing hotel for our anniversary for a nice little spa break. Xxx More...

I love the updated decorative changes to this historic hotel.  The restored antique lights, trim and windows make for a romantic stay.  The staff is friendly and cooperative and the amenities are comfortable.  I enjoy staying here when we visit Utica and appreciate all that goes into keeping this grand landmark going.  The back parking lot is now paved and fenced.  Parking is also free. There is a new entry ramp to make it easy to enter the back with roller suitcases or a wheel chair.  We enjoyed the fresh breakfast buffet and the complimentary cookies, too. More...

This hotel has and continues to be such a pleasant experience.  The front desk are always friendly and receptive.  The restaurant is never a let down and the location is ideal for overnight corporate events I attend during the year. Sharon is by far one of the best waitresses/bartenders I know.  I served for years during my college/graduate years and have worked for five star restaurants.  She is always welcoming, knowledgable and accommodating.  She has never steered me wrong, never seemed annoyed when myself or my group throws special requests or curve balls at her and always professional.  Sometimes when people get comfortable in the restaurant business they can sneak in snide comments or try to manipulate situations and she is exact opposite of that.  Jeremy also has amazing attention to detail and when he is serving a table, never misses a beat and delivers what five star fine dining servers do.I am always advising my colleagues to visit the bar and restaurant area despite all the big named restaurants just across the street and after being served by this staff with the quality of food, they never regret it!I've also convinced many colleagues to cancel their upcoming reservations at hotels to both the left and right of the Double Tree and join me here for a follow up corporate training in December.Lastly, I wanted to participate in the two day green program that also rewards me with hotel points.  Colin at the front desk was willing to sign me up that toon less than three minutes or so and also was able to refresh a shampoo, conditioner and water bottle for me in seconds.Thank you for such a lovely experience! We hired the conservatory for a Baby Shower. It was a dream to decorate and the staff were so friendly and very helpful right from the start. Afternoon tea was served for about 40 people and they let us bring our own floral tea sets. I can't thank them enough!! Let me start by saying we had a great vacation here. Things I like:- It's updated and new looking- The staff was friendly and nice- The room is comfortable with responsive air conditioning- 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool- beachfront property- AMAZING breakfast! !!- warm cookies at the front deskThings I didn't like:- our bathroom smelled like pee when we got there and the smell didn't go away- the kitchen didn't have any napkins or paper towels. Not practical with a family - we had to call the front desk to get sheets and blankets for the pull out couch at 11:00 p.m. the first night when we realized they weren't in the closet like every other Hilton hotel we stay in.Will most likely come back - we also like the Hilton next door too. I stayed at the double tree for two nights and had a great experience. We were greeted by very friendly staff when we arrived. The young man who helped us with our bags was great. The room was perfect for myself and my boyfriend. The kitchen was a great addition to the hotel rooms. The pools were great and refreshing. Some things to suggest are that I tried to use the bathrooms inside the hallway near the downstairs pool but there was no toilet paper. I then went to the bathroom in the indoor pool and it was extremely dirty. Also, there was a light in our room that would only turn off or on by screwing the bulb in or out. All minor issues but things for the Staff to take note of. Over all a good experience and I would stay there again. More...

This hotel was much better than I thought it would be. The staff were well trained and pleasant and one of the best assets of the hotel. They had a shuttle which was very useful. The T.Burke's gastropub had good steaks and an interesting beer selection altho the wine list by the glass was terrible.  The room was large and pleasant and a King bed. Strangely there was no laundry service which we realised after having to extend our stay due to car damage...so disappointing. When it comes to Utica, NY this is probably one of the best options.  It's newly remodeled and looks really swanky.  The rooms are clean, sharp and comfortable.  They aren't overly spacious but certainly big enough.  They also have their own parking lot with plenty of space.  It's located in the heart of downtown and the surrounding neighborhood could certainly use a new coat of paint so to speak.  But it's fine.  You have drinking and dining options within walking distance.  And if that doesn't suit then they have a restaurant/bar which works just fine.  I found it to be a very comfortable place to spend the night. Great spot & beautiful beach area. Get the corner room because it is huge ! Two bathrooms & its actually bigger than the "suites" Only downside was although it is has a small "starbucks", it did not have a gift shop or store to buy anything. There is a cvs a few mins away.  Be careful crossing the street !!! It takes forever & we actually almost hit by a bus driver who blatantly blew a red light after seeing about ten of us waiting to cross (including my stroller with a 16 month old) There is the famous "anthonys" directly across the parking lot for subs & alcohol. This hotel is in a convenient location close to restaurants, THE mall and activities.It is a tad older, but what's wonderful about this DoubleTree is its staff especially Tayetta Fawson, Front Desk Supervisor. Overall, this hotel is a great addition to the Central NY area. I live in CA, but most of my family lives one town over in Herkimer County.  As such, having this as an option for when I'm in NY 3-4 times a year is splendid. If you are used to nice hotels and want higher class than the Holiday Inn or Red Roof, this is your best option in Utica. The staff is nice, the rooms are large and very clean, the lobby is beautiful, and being walking distance to nice coffee shops, the Aud, and the Stanley theater is great (and a very short drive to Munson and Uptown Theater). My only gripes are minor. I called to see if I left a fleece sweater during a recent April 2019 stay and despite leaving two messages, no one ever called me back. Second, I had to adjust my reservation slightly from one night to another and was charged a $50 "change fee" because I had already saved $10 by "paying early." I understand there are rules, but Utica is still a small town. It'd be nice if this hotel showed some small town good feeling and waived the fee, instead of transferring me to a soulless Hilton Corporate rep and nickel and diming me for moving my reservation check-in from a Tuesday to a Thursday during the same week. They lost no money on the deal and the hotel was not full either day. Come on. But, that is certainly not enough to sour me. I've already stayed here 3 times in the past year and will certainly look here again when I'm back in town. More...

Had 2 lovely stays at this hotel. Our second stay was yesterday, we were upgraded for free to the presidential suite, which was great for us with our 7 month old, plenty of room for her to play with her toys and for the cot bed.
