Only ever seems to cater for weddings as far as I know but it is a good venue for that so long as there's no more than about 50 of you.

I'm not entirely sure whether it's fair to review the Athenaeum whilst it acted as host for a number of stall-holders during the town's annual Christmas market, but the building itself was a joy to take a stroll around. I can imagine it would be a perfect venue for a wedding reception or live music. The architecture inside and out is stunning. I note some of the other comments said that it was too hot inside, but it was difficult to judge when it was filled with so many people, and I was wearing apparel more appropriate for the weather outside.
