I recently had an extremely alarming experience with my pug puppy at dogtopia. He came home after a day of daycare and began violently vomiting. Eventually throwing up pieces of blanket. I rushed him to the vet where he continued to throw up. He had ingested shredded blanket pieces. When I called dogtopia I spoke to the manager Sara. Her response was “well he needs to be able to be in the room and not eat blanket”. She never apologized or asked how my puppy was. Thank goodness my puppy was ok, 1000 dollars later. But he could have died had this caused a blockage. Dogs eat things, this is why many of us don’t leave our pups unattended. The first time I left my dog at Dogtopia in New Rochelle for the day I was watching the cameras. I was told dogs are never crated for more than 10 minutes and just in the time I was watching, my dog was crated for an entire half hour until I eventually called them, livid that my dog had been treated that way.
I was told that she was humping other dogs. I have taken my dog to many dog parks and she has never once humped another dog. Anyway the manager called me and justified their treatment of my dog instead of apologizing. I wrote it off as an isolated incident and moved on. Fast forward to a year later and the day after hurricane Ida. My dog was booked into daycare for the day and even though there was a hurricane the night before, I did not have the liberty of taking the day off. I kept checking emails in the morning to make sure I didn’t miss an important notification from Dogtopia but since I did not receive any notification I went ahead and drove through. Due to the hurricane and road closures it took me 3 hours to get there (I live 20 minutes away) and upon arrival am told by the owners that daycare is closed for the day. They tell me that they have boarding dogs for the day but not accepting day care due to having lost power. So I asked the female owner Jerry if there was a notification or email sent out and she basically yells at me that I should have called. Feeling hopeless I explain my situation to her and her husband and express that I have no idea what to do since I can’t go home to leave my dog and then drive back to work. The male owner then grabs my dog’s leash from me without saying a word and the woman proceeds to yell at me ‘if you don’t pick her up at exactly 5pm you’ll find her in the shelter’. She then even tells me it’s the shelter around the corner and again says if I don’t return for her at 5pm they’ll leave her there.
I called corporate to tell them about this horrible experience with the extremely rude and volatile owners. After this Jerry called me and again yelled at me and pretended like I misunderstood everything that morning and spoke to me in a harsh and condescending tone.
I will never take my dog back to Dogtopia. The owners are rude and obviously do not at all care about dogs.

The employees at this site are incompetent, cold and unhelpful. I was in a tight and needed boarding for a long weekend. Granted, Dogtopia's policy of behavioral checks and day care prior to boarding is necessary and wonderful but the local staff at this site were completely unhelpful in trying to accomplish this for my pet in a time frame that should have worked (4 days). Ultimately, a service and business should be welcome to "making business" and this site's energy was the complete antithesis of that entrepreneurial spirit: lazy, arrogant, poor customer service and apathetic. I would not recommend anyone use their services and would encourage their staff to go through customer service training and team building so that they may improve their poor, unprofessional and quite frankly, raggedy service. I boarded my puppy for two days. Staff was attentive, caring and courteous. My puppy came back to me happy and healthy. The webcam was an awesome feature.

As someone who almost never writes a review (good or bad), I am compelled to express our TOTAL satisfaction with Dogtopia in New Rochelle, NY. Our dog Savanna, spent 1 day in day care, followed by a one night boarding and a spa service. Everything about this place is outstanding. The facility is spotless, the people are caring and well trained in pet care. We do not often board our dog, so we asked many questions. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable and answered our questions very satisfactorily . We picked up Savanna this morning and she was happy and alert; almost reluctant to leave. We highly recommend Dogtopia and plan on using the services on our next trip to New York. This is a very well run place and its nice to see people that enjoy what they are doing and treat each pet as if were their own. More...

I wish I could give 10 stars to this place. Staff is friendly, attentive; the owner is extremely accommodating and you can tell he cares about what he does.
I'll check in from time to time on the webcams (of course) and almost always there's a pet receiving some love from the staff and always paying attention. I mean when I first brought my 50 lb dog, I was carrying her in! Now, she trots happily in on her own; which indicates to me she is comfortable at this point. I am just beyond impressed with the level of care received from this facility and recommend to literally anyone who will let me tell them.
Also, for the people who return home with "sick" dogs; this can really happen anywhere, even when vaccinated. Similar to the common cold, kennel cough has multiple strains and it is impossible to vaccinate for all of them. This really isn't a reflection of the facility, in my opinion.

I had to travel to the New Rochelle area for a family emergency. Because it was last minute trip, I was unable to secure care for my dog at home and had to bring her with me. I was so relieved to find Dogtopia New Rochelle! The staff was kind, knowledgable and professional. The facility was immaculate and I loved that I could watch the play areas via webcam. I had never left my dog in a boarding facility before but will absolutely bring her back next time I have to come to the area. Such a great find! More...

I bring my dog here Mon-Fri and he LOVES it! He is always eager to go inside in the morning and greet all the people and dogs. I really like that I can watch him on the cameras (even outside) at any time during the day - it was especially important to me the first few days because I wanted to make sure he was adjusting well. I love this place!! I take my pup Theo here Monday-Friday and he absolutely loves it. They take such good care of him and I watch him regularly playing form the live webcams! The owners and the managers are the nicest people ever. The employees are always loving on Theo and making him feel comfy that he just loves going back everyday. I am so happy this place opened because I have such peace of mind leaving Theo here everyday. I recommend them to everyone I meet who has a dog. :) More...

I am currently an employee of dogtopia of New Rochelle, and I have over 17 years professionally working with dogs. I'm a certified groomer and have worked at other boarding/daycare facilities along with 3 animal hospitals as a technician and kennel assistant. And I absolutely love this place ! I know from experience how professional and caring the employees along with the owners are. Here are just a few pictures of Mikey , my sister's dog. He stayed with us while she was vacationing and he can be a little shy but all of the employees spent time with him showing him attention and affection. He loved it so much ! Made a lot of friends and will be back very soon! I am so happy to have a place that I know is so professional and caring to leave my fur babies when I'm on vacation !! More...
