There are so many good things about Dockside. We arrived here for lunch at about noon on Monday. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time, but quickly filled. The food: I started with the chowder, it had many different bits of seafood in it, all delicious and perfectly cooked. It was also a very sizable portion. Next, I had the wok squid. It was absolutely amazing, the garlic and spicy flavors were great. Others at my table enjoyed the CBLTAB and the Philly Cheesesteak. The fries were also good. There are also multiples gluten free options available (marked on the menu) and they are allergen friendly.The drinks: my husband and friend were unsure of which beer they wanted, so the waitress quickly offered tasters of the two they were deciding between. Went for New Year's brunch with my son. The food, service, and view of the marina were exceptional. Have been here a few times and have enjoyed it immensely. This time, the only downside was that we were seated near the bussing area so the noise level was somewhat distracting and a bit intrusive at times. This is review for the breakfast menu only..A great way to start off the morning.... eating breakfast at a table with a great view of all of the hustle and bustle of False Creek. The food was very good. We started with the chili squid and arugula salad. My friend had the tenderloin which was cooked a perfect Chicago medium and I had the lamb which was delicious but a little veiny. The service was great as well. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because I couldn’t drink my Americans. It tasted extremely bitter and burnt. The food and service were great. We come here often. This time for lunch for a special preChristmas visit. The restaurant still hasn’t learned that the new trend in dining is to have soft music or no music at all. The base boom boom with no melody discernible was jarring and annoying. The manager turned it down after three complaints. But the excuse is always” we can’t turn it off” or” we can’t regulate the base volume”. Even with the busy pre Xmas lunch crowds we had a window seat and good service. My only quibble is that the menu could use a bit of refreshing. Discovered the hidden gem this year. My husband and I often ride in on the Sea bus-recommend as you don’t have to think about parking for a relaxing Happy Hour. He loves the beer brewed on site. Very nice atmosphere and service is excellent. The waitresses are very polite and courteous and let you feel at home. They would patiently answer your questions and give you good suggestions. The high ceiling is an attraction and the seating is spacious and you do not fell any pressure at all. Being by the water is another bonus and you feel extremely relax. Dockside is a special venue in terms of its location. The restaurant area is bright and modern with windows looking out onto False Creek. Very nice getaway. The server was extremely friendly, informative and attentive. My guests reported that their Thanksgiving meal was very tasty - I opted for SEAfood and a small caesar salad. The salad was delicious and so were the scallops with squid ink. The crab cakes looked very appetizing, but I was disappointed with their flavour and texture. I would hope the chef could 'liven' up the crab cakes and perhaps use more select pieces of Dungeness crab. The desserts were sensational.
