I got DJ Billman's name and contact information through our wedding photographer (Ryan Merrill). We were planning a fairly small wedding on a more-than-fairly small budget. DJ Billman's prices were reasonable, and listed right on his website - which I like because it saves so much time. Another really cool thing is that once you send your initial deposit, you are assigned a login and password for your wedding project. There are forms you can fill out if you would like specific songs played at certain times of the reception (cake cutting, first dance, last dance, etc.) You can add and delete songs you definitely want played throughout the reception, songs you would like played if there is time, and songs you absolutely do not want. I am in my 40s and my hubby is in his 50s with kids in their 30s and we both had friends from various walks of life - so we had a wide variety of people with quite the range in musical taste to consider. I logged into DJ Billman's site, and every couple of days I would go in and add a song here and there in no particular order and basically told him "Here are all the songs we would like. Use your judgement when to play them and mix in anything else you think would be a good addition." I also found a song on the internet (that wasn't listed in his list of songs) that I wanted played when I walked down the aisle and he made it happen. He was FANTASTIC! We had a small dancefloor under a gazebo at an outdoor venue and it was literally packed the entire evening, with people dancing in other areas too! Everyone was having such a good time that we asked him to stay an extra hour, which he did. The next day I saw people out on the street and they were commenting that they were watching our wedding from their nearby hotel balconies and even THEY were having fun! We had DJ Billman at our wedding and he was fantastic! The uplighting that they provided really set the mood in the reception area, but where DJ Billman really shined was with the music!
The login/worksheet process on their website made it easy to catalog which songs we wanted played for our first dances, procession/recession, and for our reception. He did a fantastic job during the reception and played all of the music we wanted to hear and kept everybody out on the dance floor and having a good time. We're college students and couldn't afford a 2000$ DJ, and DJ Billman had extremely affordable rates without sacrificing any quality.

We used Billman Productions for both our uplighting and custom monogram. Our wedding was last year in November at the Marriott hotel. We had salmon and coral lighting and the room looked beautiful. We also had them put a monogram with our names on the wall in between the salmon colored lights. Great choice and we were very happy with overall the way it looked. A concern we had was the wording on the monogram. We didn't know exactly how we wanted it but they had a good idea from some we sent them and made it look just how we had hoped. DJ Billman did an amazing job. He played almost everything on our list and MCed the entire not allowing it to flow nicely.
We were late of course and he still keep me on track and included all the things I request. I got tons of complements on my DJ. Dance floor was popping all night and my uplight was fabulous. I have 2 family members getting married and the wanted to know if DJ Billman and Amanda travel outside FL.
Amanda was amazing. I wanted to stick to my time line and kept giving her a hard time about stopping for photos (I was already late) but I am sure I am going to love the pictures I was trying to say no too. Together they are a powerful team and they enjoyed themselves as well.
All I can say is wonderful. You can get great quality and an affordable price because of vendors like them.

DJ Billman was the DJ for my daughter's bat mitzvah. His office manager, Amanda, was extremely helpful, kind and returned all of my phone calls and inquiries - even BEFORE I booked them. The website is easy to navigate and my daughter was able to put in the songs that she wanted played directly online. I was able to establish a timeline for the party on line as well as going over everything with the DJ in person and over the phone. DJ Billman was a great MC and really kept the party flowing and right on schedule. My daughter was happy with him as well because he played all the songs her and her friends requested. We have used the same DJ service probably for about 12 years. They did just fine entertaining the kids but my coordinators wanted a fun and upbeat person to really get the crowd motivated. BTW this was a school event not a wedding but I had to share our experience because of how wonderful they were to work with. DJ Billman arrived early for us and provided the uplighting, DJ service and photography. They were so friendly and helped us with additional things such as setting up a projector for our slideshow and also showing the students some line dances and keeping them happy. They provided the lights with a really cool lavender purple color for the walls and also did our photos around the room. The kids had a blast and even the parents said it looked like a lot more fun this year. We had just the students stay for the dance. I couldn't believe how cool this was but as a bonus they made us a library of our photos online and we were able to print them for our students. My wedding was everything I had dreamed, from start to finish! Every song which I had planned for the ceremony was perfect. The microphone for the officiant sounded great, all of my guests said they heard my husband and I exchange our vows. DJ Billman himself is such a nice guy. He and his wife made such a great team between making sure all of the music on our playlist was played throughout the evening. (Be careful who you hire) We have the formula for a great dance party! Knowing what types of music and songs to play at the right times is the key to keeping guests happy and dancing. We know what songs work with the correct age groups. Whether we're catering to the kids and teens age groups with all the current songs they enjoy dancing to, from cha cha slide, cupid shuffle, wobble, etc to playing the current hip hop and dance music. We know what the adult crowd enjoys and we always play something for everyone. A great mixture of fun dance songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s to great slow dances and group participation. How would you describe your ‘style’?
Our style can be tailored to work with any age group. We are one of the only DJs that is able to provide music to any crowd no matter the age and a mix of ages as well. For wedding receptions we have the format to cater to the adults, the kids and grandma & grandpa! We are energetic enough to not be "over-the-top" but provide a fun party atmosphere and motivate your guests just right. Sweet 16s, Birthday Parties & Teenage parties are what we also specialize in, we have access to all the most current pop, hip hop and dance music that's but appeals to the young crowd. We know when to play easy listening and we know when to pick up the party!
What do you love most about your job?
We say career, because a job sounds too standard. Our career is amazing because we get to work with so many different people and go to so many different places. Our career in the entertainment industry is ever changing. We love to travel places, we especially enjoy watching our guests, bride and grooms and guest of honor having the time of their lives out on the dance floor. Playing your favorite requests, handing you those crazy and funny photos from the photo booth, transforming your party with lighting and taking photos of the bride and groom. From speaking with our customers on the phone to setting up your event and creating a memorable night, makes it all worth it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It's been a long journey, difficult and easy but we wanted the opportunity to provide great entertainment at an affordable cost. It's about meeting people, great connections, fun memories and of course being in business for yourself. Who wouldn't want to get paid to party? Instead of that typical 9-5 job, we wanted to change it up and create excitement for those around us.
