Six months ago my husband and I were searching for a program for our son 20 years old with a co-occurring addiction and mental health disorder. My husband and I decided that this was the best place and now 6 months later my son is still sober! In his words "Discovery saved my life and Discovery got him sober" From the minute we dropped him off and left him in the hands of the caring, well trained staff we felt a sense of comfort and trust that he was in good hands. His counselor AnneMarie was OUTSTANDING, she connected with him and gave him the comfort level that he needed to open up to her about his issues and showed that she truly cared about him and his recovery. She kept my husband and I up to date with his progress and was there for us and with us every step of the way. When our son chose to continue his journey after completing 28 days here she and Megan found the best intensive outpatient program for him moving forward. They were both instrumental in matching our son with the right program for him. Today we feel blessed to have our son back and thank god he led us to Discovery Institute! More...

my stay at disovery although short was very helpful in my recovery the counselors were great the staff very helpful the addmissions coordinators were very knowlegable. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that really wants to better their lives and those in it.-Anonymous More...

i am a former client who recently completed the ACT program. i just wanted to give a shout out to the entire act team from the director, Tracy to my counselor Stacie and everyone in between! (kayla and rob). Everyone in ACT was extremely supportive and genuinely cared about not only the well being of myself, but all the clients in act. it is frustrating being in a program that is controlled by the state, however the drive and determination by the counselors to keep me as long as they possibly could made it all the better. the only negative i have is I often felt that ACT was looked down upon within DIAD by STS (the private insurance program). we were often referred to as the “state clients” and “criminals”, but i can say the entire ACT team and other employees at DIAD never made act or me feel that way. I’ve worked at Discovery Institute for over 3 months now and have seen nothing but amazing results! It’s an absolute joy to see the light of hope return to someone’s eyes after a few days, the staff bends over backwards to attend to the clients needs and is always around if a client needs anything, even if it means working a few extra hours or checking in on clients on their days off. The admissions staff at Discovery Institute works hard to make every client feel comfortable. I will say that there is nothing that will not be done to make the clients feel comfortable and safe within reason. Most of the time the Admissions staff are the first people that the clients get to sit down and have very personal and private conversations with. Not even Columbus could have made this a better "Discovery". The staff at this institution are dedicated to their job and knowledgeable about the science of addiction. If you are serious about recovery, this is the place for you. Special thanks to my counselor Kevin for helping me find myself in recovery.
