We chose Diamond Seafood for our wedding reception venue for all the amenities they provide! Their packages are a little more pricey than other venues we visited, but it was well worth the price. Spacious, elegant, and wonderful customer service! My husband and I was planning our own wedding, so we had a lot of questions. Anh Phong treated us with such respect and sincerity. He made the process of booking the venue to the day of very simple and followed up with us through every step. Food tasting was delicious! We had the whole course meal all to ourselves. We of course had to bring most of them home because we were stuffed to the brim and couldn't give up on any of the dishes. When it was time for us to do the half payment and venue finalization, Tony threw in special add-ons to us, on the house! We are very thankful for their hospitality to make our special day extra special! All our guests loved the food and had a great time. From originally planning to have only 15 tables to 29 tables, Diamond Seafood made it happen with plenty of space still to walk around to our guests. The first time I came here, it was my cousins wedding and the food was not tasty at all. It was super salty and the dishes they picked were not great. So when my friend said he was having his reception at Diamond, eyes starting rolling cause I imagined the food being so blah. To my complete surprise, the dishes he picked were so good. We started off with a lobster fruit salad (best dish), fried stuffed scallop wrapped in shrimp, abalone with mushroom and bok choy, lobster with noodles, duck buns, shaken beef, fried rice and this yummy che. Let me start off by saying Tony (The Manager) is a great guy. One of the nicest and soft spoken person I have ever met. Our wedding was a dream come true due to Tony and his staff. They were professional, courtesy and accommodating with our plans, budget and payments. On top of all that, they knew all of our vendors and assisted without flaws. The lay out of this banquet hall was modern and cozy, exactly what my wife was looking for.  We had a small wedding of about 200+ guess. Everyone had exception service from the bar to table. They really went out of their way to made sure everything was promptly cater to. What I value the most was Tony's input on schedule, vendors, entertainment and other aspect that I would have never thought of. He truly showed us how knowledgeable he is in this business. I highly recommend anyone who is having a wedding to consult with him ASAP. Guaranty it won't be a waste of time because they are knowledgeable, accommodating and most importance of all he wasn't money hungry like other places we interview. Diamond Seafood Place I was our first venue of choice for our wedding and we were lucky to be able to book them. (They have total of 3 locations now).  Venue is absolutely beautiful and spacious. The foods at the dinner reception got raves from everyone! Both our Vietnamese and non Asian guests love the foods. The unique thing about Diamond seafood place versus other venues is that there are bonus packages the venue offer at free charge such as as lighting for the whole venue, lighting for the walk way, stage, monogram, champagne fountain ceremony, fog for your first dance, customize backdrop for your thank you photo, cake, simple center piece if you wish to use them, set up for the sweet table etc...all you have to pay is the food package, everything else is free. These can add up to a few grand when you booked other venue that doesn't offer and you have to pay for separate vendors. We got the pleasure to work with Tony (Thu) for our wedding. He very communicative and responsive to all our calls. He attentive and listens to all our requests and follow through with them. This is a great place to have a nice intimate wedding if you only have less than 10 tables. Decorations, appetizers, are provided even for a small wedding. The food is also great. Our team met with the two managers at least twice before the actual event took place this past Sunday.  They were very helpful in every possible way to accommodate and they deserve A+ grade.  They have an older sound equipment but more than adequate for our needs.  Two large projection screens in the main area and one screen near the front door/reception area.  I could not get the sound from my laptop to go to their speaker system instead of just the projection TV speaker but their expert worker Andy solved that.  There is a smaller area that I believe could handle maybe 80? people that we did not use.  There is also a projection screen in that area too.Parking is not an issue at all since the nearby Sam's Club is permanently closed.  They have a security guard during the event.  Look up where this place is located on the map because even with the GPS you can miss it.  Essentially it is located in the strip mall on the SE corner of Beach Blvd. and Lampson Ave. in Garden Grove.  The outside of the building is quite plain with a sign that is not prominent and can be missed from the street during daylight hours.  It is nearby a Nail Salon and Massage parlor.  I missed it on Beach going north off the 22 Fwy and turned right on Lampson and quickly turned right again into the strip mall.  Even then, following the GPS, I could not immediately see the restaurant sign until I saw the Sam's Club straight ahead while driving forward then I realize the restaurant was to my right.Once inside the restaurant, all I can say is WOW!  Perfect for weddings but we were having it for a big church anniversary banquet.  We had over 300 people that still fit in the main area.  They have a good size stage which we used and a dance floor (which we did use for our instrument ensemble).  Food was great especially if you like seafood.  One person at our table was allergic to seafood but he was still full from eating the other food.  The Fried rice was great!  It had Chinese sausage in it.  Lobster with Noodles was serve in abundant amount.  Fried fish was good.  Rest of the Menu was excellent which included Four Star Cold Dish Asparagus with Crab meat soup appetizer.  Main dish also included Peking duck with buns, and Assorted seafood with broccoli.  Dessert was a sweet green bean with tapioca. The managers made themselves available the entire time.  We had a program before dinner and they asked when they should start serving.  Our program went over the time but they patiently waited the food was served hot.The cake we had was so good that some people ate two pieces.  It was recommended by the restaurant and the bakery provided free delivery.Everything was great but customer service was tops.  Highly recommend this place for any special event. My fiance and I was referred by our friend to book this restaurant for our wedding. We hesitated at first but we booked it after we tried their food. The food was good and plus their wedding package was in our budget which we liked. Anh Kevin, which is the manager of the restaurant was amazing to us. Great taste. Rich in flavor. Restaurant style.They just opened dont miss out. Lunch special is $6.85 and $7.85 except for the scallop dishes. That includes free entree soup, and free snack dessert jello. Rice is included. tea as well.Cant ask for more!!!The salt pepper squid is a must. This place really dresses up nice for banquets. I've never been to this place before so I don't know if it ever was a restaurant in the past. From outside it looks like a generic restaurant for Seafoodies but inside it caters for even more. I came here for my best friends wedding reception and I was kinda impressed inside. I'm not sure how it is for every wedding. Like if the decorations and organization are the same for every event. I'm pretty sure they have options. I did feel a little cramped at my table and there wasn't a lot of leg space. I was thankful to be assigned at a table with unassigned seating. And the food!!! My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the private room in the back. In total we had 50 people in attendance. The menu was great! All of our guests said they enjoyed the food. Plus, the decor and lighting inside was fabulous. We had one restaurant employee in the room at all times making sure everything was going smoothly. I believe his name was Andy and he was great, super helpful and nice. He helped with the projection screen and speakers as we were playing our own music playlist and we had made a slideshow to display during speeches and dinner. Overall, it was a great time and Diamond Seafood Palace exceeded my expectations. Another great plus was that they allow BYOB with zero corkage charge! We brought some wine for each table and guests were able to order beer which was $4 per beer, definitely not horrible.  The only con of the night was that I had requested weeks in advance that the menu for the night include the steamed fish dish not the crispy fish dish, however, they brought out the crispy fish dish. This was the team that catered to my wedding though I met Kevin, the catering manager and had a food tasting at Seafood Palace. My guest loved the food and what little I had at the end of the event was cold but still delicious. Kevin is so accommodating and was very flexible with payments and food choices. This place had pretty delicious Chinese cuisine! My bf and I came here for our good friends wedding and was pretty amazed by the wedding decor the venue provided. I enjoyed the menu selection, as the lobster salad was quite a site to see.The house special lobster, as well as their soup and fish selection were also quite tasty. The one thing I would say is that the venue is a bit small for a larger wedding. My friend was able to fit 40 tables for his wedding, however it was somewhat crowded and difficult to see from the back. CONGRATULATIONS TO MY UNCLE KEV AND HIS BEAUTIFUL WIFE!! I originally had low expectations of this venue because I've heard a lot of negative comments. I'm fairly certain I've been to this venue before (I've been to countless weddings ever since I was a baby!!), but it all seemed new to me this past weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it! First off, it is the building with no name on it. You'll see Diamond once you drive into the parking lot (it's located right by Subway). It's a little tricky, and I found myself driving past it several times. There is ample parking right in front, but the security guard will ask you to move your vehicle if you are a guest at the wedding (to not take up parking spots from the other businesses next door). We had well over 400 people in this building, tightly packed into the scarce space.. but we all made it work! Of course there's a dance floor and a stage for the singer/ DJ too! When you walk past the dance floor, there's a spacious room where my uncle had all the bottomless wine/ beer and photo booth! The staff here is incredible. I'm sure they had to take a few classes on trying to contain their temper for rowdy party goers like us haha. The food the servers brought out was pretty much what you'd expect at a Chinese/ Vietnamese wedding. It wasn't anything too spectacular. I had my wedding here and I wish I have the photos to show you what their deluxe package looks like, first off, it's only $500 for them include decorations for my wedding and i was very pleased with how beautiful it came out, they made sure to use new napkins and the cake that they included Tommy package was so beautiful I was speechless, for something that pretty to be free . .. it made me felt really smart. Their staff were so attentive that no one were disappointed or left the wedding complaint about the food or service. Kevin ( the owner ) and his team were very respectful and gave us a full break down of our bill, i felt like it was transparent and different from all the other places that I've talked to before coming to diamond seafood. You can switch out the dishes if you don't like any of the dishes on the wedding menu that you selected. We made a kid table and Kevin also hand crafted a menu that is appropriate for the kids, peanuts allergy were addressed and he made sure no peanuts were served at our wedding. Our Rosé wine were chilled overnight and served perfectly as requested. I'm really glad I had my wedding here. Ps you're going to have an option between Van and another bakery for your cake, we chose Van on brookhurst and we're extremely of what we got.
