I did a two week Bridal course last year. Not only did it build up my skills and give me the confidence to operate a professional make up and hair business but it taught me about the industry as well. I am now happily working as a make up artist and hair stylist and have done weddings, photo shoots, occasion make up and prom etc. Plus I’ve had the fantastic experience to work with DFMA on setting up and running their new make up bar. Another for opened for me all through having gone to DFMA to train! That’s in addition to other job opportunities that come up and the ongoing training in the form of masterclasses which are always so worthwhile. I did the foundation in fashion 3 years ago, and am in the process of completing the 4 week fashion, media and TV course. DFMA offers amazing training giving you the skills and confidence you need to succeed in whichever part of the industry you wish to work . Since completing my course 3 years ago I’ve been published in Riddle Magazine, and worked on several Lookbooks and Advertorials, featured on line at John Lewis and clothing brand Lands End as well as local weddings and shoots. I did the Fashion TV and Media part time course. I was a little nervous that doing a part time wouldn't be as beneficial but I was completely wrong. ... I learnt so much. The tutors we had work in the industry and know all the tricks of the trade not just with application but with industry knowledge that you would not get from being taught by a "college" lecturer( not that there's anything wrong with that I just felt I got more out of having the tutors DFMA provided). Not only do you get talented tutors who are truly inspirational but the aftercare is just priceless. DFMA not only trains you gives you the advice and support you need to really push yourself to do well in the industry, Davinia herself puts on business days giving her students her time sharing her experiences from starting out in the industry. Wow what can I say! I don't even know where to start putting into words how amazing the DFMA academy is! I attended the 5 day foundation course at lipstick towers in Bournemouth in May. I was full of excitement on my first day and I couldn't wait to get started and boy I wasn't disappointed. The kit you get giving is amazing and so carefully thought out, I could have just played with that for hours. Over the 5 days we had different MUAs teaching us, we learned so many things from... A flawless face application, smokey eyes, bridal, individual eyelash extensions and eye brow blocking which was hilarious special shout outs to Gem Flossy and Carly I absolutely LOVED YOUR DAYS! Then the final day, wow that was such an exciting experience, getting your model ready with a look of your choice, having an incredible photographer take photos for your portfolio. I remember standing there being so super Proud of myself for what I had achieved that week! And then feeling slightly sad as I realised my week had come to an end but I didn't want it to be over! If your looking at doing any of the courses I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! They are worth every signal penny! And I'm so proud to say I'm a DFMA GRADUATE X More...

DFMA have taught me so much! I studied back in 2015. I looked at many different schools and I am so pleased I picked DFMA! ! if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be doing what I love and I wouldn't be where I was without them and their support. I have finally got my dream job and if it wasn't for the support they provide while on the course and even after I would most probably be lost! The course I took was the TV, Film, SPFX and hair 4 week course! Brilliant course absolutely loved it and learnt so much. They have the most wonderful tutors and the kit they provide is amazing. So if you are looking to train in your dream job then do it with them, you will always have the DFMA's support beside you all the way!! I have worked on TV sets, film sets, music shoots, London fashion week and been an assistant for DFMA on a weeks course! I also have a fantastic freelance business of my own with amazing clients. 1000% recommend you'd be silly not to train at this wonderful school! Even the private events you have in different stores are amazing!! Great experience, Even the private event that Davinia held of her showing her makeup tips! I studied with DFMA back in April/May this year and it was the best thing I have ever done! Jane and Gemma were absolutely amazing along with the other tutors! I have learnt so much and so glad I went with this academy! I even managed to get myself on a photoshoot just 2 weeks after qualifying! To know that they're still available to talk to whenever and wherever after you qualify is absolutely amazing too! So much support is given! I am currently studying the 4 week tv film makeup and hair course and it is amazing ! Jam packed full of knowledge from industry proffesionals I am learning loads and my confidence is growing daily. The academy I am training in is in Bournemouth and is a proper makeup studio in a lovely location. The makeup kit we all recieved is awesome and cant wait to add to it.
