I had the duck confit grilled cheese sandwich... i think i had a mouthgasm.. seriously. The flavor profile was simple. The duck melted in my mouth, the caramelized onions gave it that smooth taste that grew with every chew. The cheese was just the right amount and the bread.. oh man the bread was buttery and crisp! Devilicious Food Truck was a contestant on “The Great Food Truck Race”. So when our members guided me towards Devilious, it was at no surprise and my expectations high!
I met up with Devilious Food Truck on a week day afternoon and I couldn’t believe the amount of people surrounding the truck about to enjoy some local foodie cuisine. The Deviliious states it has food so good, it’s bad! Really cool design and logo of a red devil taking a bite out of sandwich. Now it’s my turn.
The menu all looks pretty awesome, but I had my eye on a few items that I figured I must try. The All Crab Crab Cake got my attention with a Toasted Sourdough English Muffin, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and House Spicy Aioli on a Toasted Sourdough English Muffin. And you know I had to make it Benedict Style with a Sunny Side Up Fried Egg. Wow the first bite is amazing. You get all the flavors from the egg yolk breaking open and the creaminess mixed with the tasty crab cakes was unforgettable. I always enjoy a good crab cake and this was even better.
The next two items on my radar were the Cheese Steak and the Pork belly Melt. The Cheese Steak consisted of a Thin Sliced Ribeye, Mushrooms and Onion with Provolone, Spicy Mayo and Mild Cherry Peppers on French Sandwich Roll. The cheese steak was perfectly cooked and the provolone cheese melted around the mushroom and onions… mmmm! And the Pork Belly Melt, tastes like it reads. Take a look at the picture and let me know what you think. I think it was the best sandwich of the bunch. And that is really saying something. Take a look at this. The Pork Belly is made with Smoked Pork Belly, Caramelized Shallots, Gruyere & Mozzarella Cheeses, Crispy Brussels and Fig Balsamic Reduction on Freshly Baked Artisan Sourdough. Wow, wow and WOW!!! That was not just it good, it was great!
