Can I say enough good things? No. I love the owner and master baker. She had no problem with catering a medium size same sex wedding in 2010. Every time I am back in Portland I pop in for more cakes. i was looking for a Key Lime pie for my daughters birthday. I called some of the usual bakeries in Beaverton. None of them could help me. I looked online and found The Dessert Tray they could bake that pie. I picked it up today as well as bought one of their yummy Butterscotch Crunch cookies. The whole family raved about the pie. Got a birthday cake from here, and the decorations were more than I expected! I asked for a couple of music notes. Instead of just one or two, they covered the cake in such a wide variety that I was stunned. The flavour was wonderful, and the suggestion of how to serve it was spot on. Excellent customer service, too; everyone I interacted with was fantastic.

One little note though. (And I honestly am embarrassed about having to write this, but it needs to be said.) If you order a cake that has any amount of black frosting, DO NOT PANIC the next day if/when the toilet is...well...bright green. It's the dye they use for the frosting, and it will go away. (Though not until after everyone who ate the cake has a good laugh.)

Finally, the prices are very reasonable, and the cakes are well sized. Their other treats are good, too. I'll be back, though I may ask them to hold the black frosting next time. More...

I was stuck on Pi Day since I found out my neighborhood dessert place wouldn't sell me a whole pie unless it was ordered that way (a much longer story). After some searching, I called The Dessert Tray and picked up their last one (cherry streusel) for the game night I was headed to.

The person at the counter was very friendly and laughed along with me when I recounted the story of the previous shop. The pie itself was hefty when I picked it up; no supermarket skimping here. The slice I had later was very good, with just the right amount of tart in the cherries, a crunchy/sweet streusel top, and a flavorful crust. It received rave reviews from others that night, and multiple people asked me where I got it so they could check it out.

Bonus: while they apparently do have dietary restricted options (a requirement in this area), I confirmed the pie I got was made with plain old butter, flour, sugar, etc., and the taste reflected it.

I'll definitely be going back for future dessert needs. More...

My husband and I used this company for our wedding five years ago and they did a BEAUTIFUL job. Our expectation were high and we wanted the most sophisticated design possible and they exceeded our hopes. The owner of the company even came with the team for delivery and set up. We have since used them for catering. We have successfully recommended two other couples for wedding needs- one of which is same sex and we were told that they were treated wonderfully!
