Kimberly is a joy to work with! Very talented and professional. She has a great eye and design ideas, but is sensitive to your budget and own preferences. I have worked with her on several projects in two homes from selecting paint colors (interior and exterior) to updating my kitchen and other areas of my home. I highly recommend her and won't hesitate to work with her on future projects! More...

Kimberly helped me choose furniture, carpet, remodel my kitchen and choose exterior house paint. She is great to work with and has a wonderful sense of style (while also taking into account my personal taste)! Her referred contractors were all really good and I saved money using her recommendations too. She even squeezed in an "emergency" house call in the middle of one of my projects. I highly recommend her! More...

Kimberly has a great eye for color! We have a large house and didn't want to pick the wrong colors - we told her what we were leaning towards and she helped us find the perfect combination! We've had multiple people come by and tell us how much they like our new paint colors!
Thank you Kimberly!!!!!

I discovered a Groupon for DesignDiva 5280 (Kimberly Teter) for a 2-hr consultation. We had moved into our new home about 8 months previously and I wanted a professional's opinion on my ideas/color choices. We are very much "do-it-yourself-ers" and Kimberly was very accepting of that and did not push us to hire her to do more than the consulting. Kimberly was very direct and honest, yet kind about my ideas for paint colors, furniture arrangements, accent wall options, etc. It was nice to hear the reasons why some of my ideas should not be brought to fruition and what other options I might think about. I wanted our home to look well put-together, and not just thrown together, which is why I wanted the consultation to begin with. It has now been almost 6 months since our consultation, and most of the changes have been implemented. We still have a few small things that need to be done, but I love the overall effect of the choices that were made. People who visit our home rave about how beautiful it is, and I'm always honest and tell them about Kimberly's assistance in preventing me from making some poor choices! I intend to hire Kimberly again for another consultation about our basement finishing project and the ideas we have for that, plus we would like her opinion on lighting placement, floor coverings, etc. so that we stay on the right course, and the end result will look as professional as the main level looks! Thanks, Kimberly! I look forward to working with you again! More...

Q&As

A fundamental aspect of my approach to interior design involves actively listening to my clients' needs and preferences, inquiring thoughtfully and thoroughly, and creating a comprehensive design roadmap to guide the project. This roadmap helps my clients to navigate the complex design process and make informed decisions, especially in situations where they may not be able to realize all of their desired outcomes at once.

By prioritizing design elements and focusing on items that will have the greatest impact, I can create a cohesive design plan that allows for future expansion and evolution. This approach ensures that my clients make informed choices about how they allocate their resources, preventing them from wasting time and money on items that will not align with their long-term vision.

I can design for most any style. The only design style that I do not offer is Feng Shui and heavy Chinoiserie.

I enjoy the creativity and artistic expression that comes with designing functional and visually appealing indoor and outdoor spaces. I appreciate the opportunity to work with different textures, colors, patterns, and materials to create unique designs that reflect the personality and preferences of my clients.

Additionally, I often work on projects that require problem-solving skills, such as optimizing the use of space or incorporating existing features into a new design. I enjoy collaborating with other professionals, such as architects, contractors, and vendors, to ensure that the design is executed correctly and efficiently. Finally, I derive a sense of satisfaction from seeing my designs come to life and making a positive impact on the lives of my clients.

I have had the opportunity to work in various industries, including television and pharmaceuticals, for many years. After my former company was acquired, I transitioned to a position as a Marketing Director for a housing developer. During my free time, I began creating more functional and visually appealing indoor spaces by drawing on the floor plans of these properties. As my passion for interior design grew, I pursued formal education in the field and obtained a degree in Interior Design.

Having established my own business, I am able to offer my clients a wide range of options and operate in a less constrained environment compared to traditional design firms. I collaborate with diverse vendors and fabricators to provide my clients with options that cater to their budgets and preferences. This flexibility allows me to customize my design solutions to the unique needs of each client, ensuring their satisfaction with the final product.

As an interior designer, I believe that clients choose me for several reasons. Firstly, clients typically seek someone who can understand their vision and translate it into a functional and aesthetically pleasing design. I have the skills and expertise to solve design challenges and provide innovative solutions that meet their needs and preferences.

Secondly, I have a reputation for delivering high-quality work while staying within budget and timelines. I take pride in my professionalism and excellent communication skills, which allows me to build trust and confidence with my clients.

Thirdly, my knowledge of industry trends, materials, and techniques, as well as my ability to source unique products and materials, is another reason clients may choose me as their interior designer.

Finally, I believe that the level of collaboration and personal attention I provide to my clients is critical to the success of any interior design project. I actively listen to my clients' needs and preferences, involve them in the design process, and communicate transparently throughout the project. This approach allows me to build strong relationships with my clients and deliver designs that exceed their expectations.

Yes, I can provide my interior design services online or remotely. In today's world, technology allows us to communicate effectively from virtually anywhere, which means that clients can benefit from my design expertise without the need for in-person meetings.

My online interior design services typically include a virtual consultation, during which I will discuss the client's needs and preferences, as well as their design goals and budget. We can communicate via video chat, email, or other digital platforms, and I will provide detailed design proposals, including floor plans and links to items.

Clients can also benefit from my remote interior design services, where I can manage the design process from start to finish. This can include sourcing materials and furnishings, suggesting contractors, and overseeing the installation of the design.

Overall, I am committed to providing flexible interior design services that meet the needs of my clients, regardless of their location or schedule. My goal is to make the design process as seamless and stress-free as possible, and I am always willing to explore new technologies and techniques to achieve this goal.

I have implemented virtual consultations and design presentations to minimize in-person contact with clients. I have also utilized digital tools and software to communicate with clients and share design proposals, including 3D renderings and floor plans.

In cases where in-person meetings are necessary, we have implemented safety measures such as social distancing, wearing masks, and using hand sanitizer. We have limited the number of people present during meetings and minimized the duration of the meetings.

Interior designers may have also recommended materials and finishes that are easy to clean and sanitize, such as non-porous surfaces and antimicrobial fabrics. They may have also made changes to the design to allow for better ventilation and air circulation.

Overall, we have had to adapt quickly to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and have implemented new measures to ensure the safety of out clients and our team.
