What’s your interior design process?
1. Initial Meeting
The first step in the process is to visit you in your home. Meeting you in person is so important as we pride ourselves on developing great relationships with our clients. Your home is a very personal place so getting to know you helps us to create a designs that we know you'll love. In this meeting we look at the rooms and spaces you are looking to address, and listen to your brief so we have a better idea about what you are looking to achieve.
2. Proposal of Work
After the meeting, we will send you a written proposal which summarises the brief as we see it and outlining the design service costs. Once this initial proposal is agreed by you and we can start working on your project.
3. Design Work & Project Coordination
This is where the fun part begins. Our design work includes sourcing all interiors items for your project - everything from furniture, lighting, flooring, wallcoverings, paint, accessories, to fixtures & fittings, surface finishes and beautiful soft furnishings...the list goes on!
Design work includes production of design ideas, fabric swatches and visuals for all items we are suggesting. We produce e-concept boards for every room which bring the schemes to life and help you to visualise our design ideas.
Once interior schemes are agreed, we produce a detailed estimate itemising all products. We then oversea all areas of work agreed - source, supply & fit all items within an agreed timescale, including liaising with any third party contractors where required.
Our service includes all site meetings, measure visits and review meetings and we will always be on hand to consult as your project progresses with any queries you have.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We can cater for all interior design styles and have worked to many different briefs from family homes to properties in the luxury holiday rental market. Our own signature style would be described as classic contemporary however we work alongside the customer's own personal tastes as well as considering the type of property we are designing. With our network of suppliers, we have access to a complete range of products covering all design styles from contemporary through to traditional and everything in between.
Whatever style you are looking to achieve, or if you need to remain sympathetic to existing pieces of furniture or features within your home, we work alongside you to develop designs that work within your space and that you love.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of the job is seeing how happy and excited our customers are with the end results. No matter how small the project is, transforming a space that before they perhaps didn't like or felt unhappy with into somewhere they love spending time is extremely rewarding, regardless of whether it's an entire home design or even a new pair of curtains.
We love bringing a project from concept through to completion. Seeing the designs come to life from initial mood boards and swatches of fabrics through to completed room schemes is really exciting. We particularly love working on projects where we do entire rooms or entire homes so that once we've installed the projects they have the ultimate wow factor as every detail has been considered.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Jacqueline McCarthy is the founder of Designcall Ltd. Her passion for interiors and talent for creating beautiful spaces led her to start the business in 2002. She wanted to help people love their homes and create the look they'd always wanted but didn't know how to achieve. She has successfully been doing this ever since!

We have worked on some really exciting projects in recent years such as a high end villa in Mallorca which was designed for the luxury holiday rental market, a ski apartment in Courchevel, three central London apartments, two converted barn projects and many large family homes in Surrey and Hampshire.
