I used Eva and her team to alter a vintage wedding dress for my May wedding this year. I'm so grateful for the skill and professional way the team dealt with making my dress fit me just one week before my big day. I didn't think I would be able to wear my dress as it had been altered badly somewhere else and was in a panic thinking my dress was ruined. I just want to thank Design and Alter especially Temi for altering my wedding dress! I can’t thank you enough! I was sceptical of how the alterations would look like. I was so happy with the changes and it looked better than when I had bought it. The team was very accommodating. I was on a diet and they waited for me to loose weigh before altering the dress. They answered all my questions. Explained everything to me and the price was excellent considering how much alterations had taken place. It was easy to get an appointment and the staff was very nice. I have lost a lot of weight and did not want to buy new suits as most of them had been made for me. Design and Alter made them fit again - the fitters did a great job and so did the tailors. I had my bridal jumpsuit with overskirt and cape made from scratch and my mother's wedding dress altered and fitted at Bride&Alter in the first half of this year.
I could not have been more pleased with their professionalism, their highest level tailoring skills, knowledge around material and general friendliness and kindness.
The Bride&Alter team was most diligent and delivered 100% on what they have promised in the exact timeline they have estimated during the first consultation. I absolutely loved going there for each and every of my many fittings and consultations and was always looking forward to discussing my wishes with the wonderful team.
I would always go back to them with any tailoring needs I could ever have and would recommend them highly to anyone I know.

It is difficult for me to buy clothes from the peg. Finding clothes which fits me well seems difficult and therefore I have used design and alter mostly for my more formal clothes I need to wear for work. I had an expensive Harrod's-bought Allegri gaberdine overcoat. Much loved, but after 20 years it was showing its age. I was sadly resigned to carting it off to a charity shop when D&A suggested I let them have a look at it. The tailors did a fabulous job, leaving the cuffs looking like new and with a handsome new set of vintage-style buttons very close to the original ones, and I look forward to another 20 years! I used Bride and Alter (Design and Alter's dedicated bridal service) to not only fit but also make structural changes to my wedding dress. Making an appointment was incredibly easy, and the team was always quick to respond and very helpful with any queries. I had a great experience with Design and Alter, who shortened a very long jumpsuit for me. I met Eva who showed me upstairs to the changing rooms, which are all large and well lit with large mirrors. I put my jumpsuit on and Eva was helpful in giving her professional opinion on the right length; I took her advice and I’m so glad I did as the result made my legs look longer. The alterations took 3 days which I was very pleased with, although I was advised by Lorraine that they often do alterations even quicker than this if somebody has a particularly short deadline. When I went back to collect my jumpsuit I tried it on again and was delighted with the results, it had been done just as planned and was also pressed and protected.
