The Palm Desert serenity spa facility is very well appointed and clean. The masseuse I had was wonderful and I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember her name. The reason I deducted one star is because the float is not body temperature. I was cold the entire time I was in it. I asked the attendant and he said it was 94 degrees. 94 degrees is not body temperature. I asked if it could be warmer and he said they could possibly leave the cover down if I called ahead, but there was no guarantee it would be any warmer. Went with my son. He got a massage and said it was THE best he's ever had. I did a float. It was a lovely facility. My float pod got too humid and I had to open it for a bit which broke the mood a bit. Otherwise really relaxing.

A friend and I came in to Desert Serenity to try floating for the first time and booked appointments assuming (because of the large very misleading sign outside) that out float would only be $59. Apparently, this price only applies on certain days. However, Zack (I believe that was his name) at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful and explained everything to us. He guided us through the process and explained how to prepare for the float and what to do while floating to make the experience more enjoyable.The float itself was very relaxing. If you already have a meditation practice, then this is perfect. After floating, I felt immediate relief in my neck, which is where I carry a lot of tension. This place has saved my life. Got a gift certificate to float from my future son-in-law. I have severe back issues with scoliosis and Lumbar spine surgery with hardware. Been on opiates for 25 years. I came in not expecting anything earth shattering, but just to relax and experience something very unique! Well it took my pain away like 80 percent. Lasted with minor pain for a week. Came in and bought a float package. I've had relief last for up to 2 weeks. I come in for a float when the pain starts to come on. So the psychological part of floating is fantastic too! Went to this great spa with 4 of my friends. Mike, The Float Man, took care of us. We were treated to champagne and light snacks in between our appointments. This place is the rock! Although we were not able to do the float, we did get an amazing, relaxing and overall perfect massage. The environment is wonderful. We were so kindly greeted by Zack and were led the lounge. Steve and Angela came and introduced themselves and took us to the couples room. They are both extremely knowledgeable, and their work truly melted our stress away. As we were leaving, they advised on what muscles to stretch on an ongoing basis. We will for sure be back!! More...

I consider my Self an experienced "Floater" and have floated at a handful of float lounge locations...from the oceans of Orange County to the deserts of Palm Springs. As a Holistic Health Practitioner & Lifestyle Coach, I also understand the many health and wellness benefits of floating. That said...I had my best experience at Desert Serenity Float & Spa. Why Because: the interior ambiance space is serene, quite, warm & cozy, beautiful and peaceful; the murals and wall colors illicit deep relaxation; the float pod areas are well kept; the lounge is a nice spot to wind down and rest before or after a float; the area is impeccably clean; and, I can also add a massage or facial with my float package! Besides, Zack is the coolest cat in town! I experienced, Zack as accommodating, pleasant and helpful. BTW...the Couple's Float Tank room, with the bright moon gazing down at me, was amazing! I tried the single float 2 weeks ago, and loved it so much that I planned a bday float for my boyfriend and me for his birthday yesterday! He loved it so much he wanted to make another appt for tomorrow! He had spinal fusion and is on his feet 12-14 hours per day, and he said it really took a load off his back! Peaceful, clean, and they deliver the float experience. My only suggestion is to eat 45 minutes prior as I was famished. Good 45 minutes of Deep meditation in an hour. I floated primarily on my back. I also flipped and took a free fall from position which released minor supportive muscles in my back.If I do this again I would first get a full body massage, some appetizers, and make my way over to the float shop. Came here for my first sensory deprivation experience and was thoroughly satisfied! The owners have thought of everything a person could need to feel comfortable before, during, and after a float. The vanity room is an awesome feature for those who have other things planned after their experience! Relaxing in the lounge afterwards was also a perfect way to end our experience. Well worth the trip and money! Celebrated my husband birthday this past weekend in Palm springs and booked this experience. I paid for a couples float. Zack was awesome and accommodating. The float experience was pretty awesome. As soon as your body toured the salt water you got instantly. Be sure to wear ear plugs (which were provided). You can come your eyes, rest, and float. Overall the experience was great, the location seemed far for a non local like myself but worth the travel. Enjoyed a relaxing day here today. Started with the infrared sauna and then did a couples float in their larger sized float pod. I'm pretty sure it's the only one in the area so that in itself is pretty amazing! We finished off with a couples massage, I had a gentleman named Steve who did such a spectacular job! From the time I walked in and was greeted by Zack (or is it Zach? :)) my time at Desert Serenity Float & Spa was wonderful! This was the first time I did a float, and I loved it--although it did take me a few minutes to get adusted and relax--I was initially tense and my neck started to hurt. After the float, I had a massage with Angela--it was one of the best I've ever had. The spa is reasonably priced and the service excellent. One of the best investments I made for mind, body and soul. I have a lot of inflammation from years of snow skiing, scuba diving, playing tennis, working out and my lifestyle choices. I have been very hard on my body and experienced discomfort sleeping etc. also suffered from severe anxiety. I did about 10 floating sessions in the epsom salts and it re-wires the mind where anxiety isn't even an issue for me now and the floating almost completely reduced my body inflammation issues to almost zero, especially my knee. My knee used to bother me constantly. Now I barely even think about it. It's been a couple of months since my last session and I am ready to do more!! More...
