We just had a lunch here. The place was very elegant and clean. The staff was friendly. The food was excellent and plenty. We had a Mix Grill meat plate and also Mixed Grill Fish plate. All three meat items lamb, chicken, and beef were prepared just right. The two types of rice were soft, mist, and delicious. The fish mix was appetizing. I would like to share my experience in this fantastic place, since I tried the food here, I told my friends and co-workers about it , great atmosphere, excellent, tasty food , friendly staff, my favorite  waitress is Reema from Jordan, very friendly, always check on you and ask you about the quality of food I tried the "Chicken Tekka" plate ,(grilled 1/2 chicken comes basmati rice)was yummy, perfect seasoning, and fresh (take about  30 min to grill), i also ordered the appetizer "Baba Ghanouj" while I am waiting for the main plate and was excellent  (balanced seasoning) comes with fresh baked Pita bread . ... If you are new to Middle Eastern Cuisine, start here at Desert Moon Grill. It is simply the best.  The atmosphere is great. The waiters seem to speak fluent English and Arabic. They are also helpful in ordering. This is not just another strip mall restaurant in Little Arabia.  The food is very very good.  We had the grape leaves appetizer followed by mixed meat swarma plate. It could not be better. The grape leaves $7 were not tart. The portion size of the swarma plates $15 was very large. The chicken, lamb, and beef were very tasty.  You can not go wrong. Opps. This restaurant by far is the best Mediterranean restaurant around.  I love the food, so I have tried many, many places.  I have made this place my most favorite in this cuisine.  Our waitress was lovely and suggested a dessert I haven't tried before......WOW.  A milk pudding piece with pistachios and honey on top.  EVERYTHING I ate today was OUTSTANDING.  Grape leaves, chicken shawarma, BTW.. try the mango juice too. This is by far the best middle eastern restaurant. We came here around 9 months ago and when we walked in they remembered us. The manager and staff really go above and beyond and it was by far the best hospitality we have experienced. My husband who is not middle eastern ordered the rib eye kabob and told me it was the best he had in his life. My brother got the lamb kabob and said the same. The rest of us shared two combination plates of beef and seafood, everything was superb.the tabouleh and humus are a must try! We also tried the beef toshka and it was great.the portion size is huge and we had to take some home. It was my brothers birthday and they really made him feel special and gave us a generous piece of desert (forgot what it's called but it's crusty on the bottom with white topping and pistashio). I have been over 30 middle Easter Mediterranean restaurants between LA and OC and I can tell you with no hesitation this is the best place. I came there one Sunday from LA to Anaheim just to try this place since I heard so many good stories .Now , I keep coming every Sunday and every single time I try new item and I enjoy all of them .The grapes leave like home made one , hummus with meat is must have .Fries Kebieh is amazing . I'd definitely recommend Desert Moon to anyone visiting the Anaheim area! The restaurant's atmosphere has an upscale Mediterranean feel while still maintaining the uniqueness of a family owned establishment. This place is under new ownership. The owner Samir took time to introduce himself to us while we were here for dinner.  We ordered the family style mixed grill that consisted of lamb kabob, chicken and kifta on a bed of two types of rice topped with pine nuts and garnished with grilled tomatoes and onions. . The food is served in large portions that feeds 5 and we still managed to take plenty of leftovers!  Excellent homemade pita bread! Prior to your meal you are served hummus, eggplant and fetoush salad. The desert is unbelievably delicious.
