Derren was a delight to work with throughout the planning of our special event and on the night he delivered magnificent food that was enjoyed by all.
Derren took my brief and brought it to life, he recommend wines to accompany all the dishes and was ultra reliable, always keeping his promises.

I was organising hen do for my friend, and we’ve booked private chef through different company. 10 days before the party, chef has cancelled on us.
I did the research and I have approached Deeren as I liked his bio and also I’ve based my decision on his good reviews. This was the best decision ever!
From the start, the communication was fantastic throughout. Derren has suggested and created different menu which looked great.
I can’t express enough how much we actually enjoyed the food ! We are all working in hospitality, and dealing with high standard of food on a daily basis. I can easily say It was one of the best meals I’ve had! I can’t thank you enough for making our friend’s celebration extra special!
I will highly recommend Derren, and definitely will be using his services again!

The entire afternoon from when Derren arrived to the time he left, was absolutely brilliant. There were 8 of us, we have an open plan kitchen diner & he worked tirelessly while we sat, talked, drank & more importantly ate & savoured his gorgeous cooking delights.
.. ! Over the 3 main courses, plus an amuse bouche & sorbet. We were given 3 choices over the 3 courses & there wasn't one disappointing meal... ! The sauces were amazing & everything cooked on the premises were beautiful & you wouldn't know Derren was there... !
Everything was beautifully cleared away & left the way he found it.... We've not stopped talking about the evening.. certainly a must for any gatherings for 4 or over, especially in these climates, where restaurants are on strict rules & regs, where none of those apply in your own home... just. brilliant... we are going to book again, without doubt.. !

Derren cooked for us at a hen party at the weekend. He was really helpful during the planning phase helping us work out a menu that suited us, and on the night he turned up promptly and did a fantastic job. He was really friendly, the food was brilliant and he also did all the clearing up which was amazing. All of the guests had a really great time and loved the meal. It was a real pleasure having Derren cook for us. We were celebrating a ‘big’ birthday and wedding anniversary and the five course menu that Derren cooked for six of us was delightful.
We had rented a property for the weekend and had no idea how well equipped the kitchen was or otherwise. As the living area/kitchen was open plan, we had the ‘chef’s table’ and Derren seemed completely un phased in having an audience.
The seasonal menu he created was all sourced locally and made our celebration perfect. He was very professional and unobtrusive but chatty enough to be a part of the evening.
I would definitely have Derren cook for me again!

What do you love most about your job?
Food and cooking has been my whole working life. Now that I have a young family, I have diversified my role into training and giving back to the industry, I love to teach people new skills and to pass on my experience.
What inspired you to start your own business?
For the last 7 years I have been training apprentice chefs and successfully helped to start a national Chef Academy for apprentices. My role was as Lead Tutor for the South of England and London, the travelling and days got longer and longer, not ideal when you have a young family! I decided that I have enough experience to create my own cookery courses and provide support for local businesses and their chefs.
