Simply perfect! A fantastic combination of a throwback local butcher shop with a gourmet twist ... irresistable to foodie meat lovers as well as those who just want a great steak or chop. Nice selection of in- house dry aged & smoked meat, cheeses and more, including chicken. Surprisingly reasonable prices for the quality. Jeff is so knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. We stopped in on our way to Hamilton Farms (for produce) just to take a look and walked out raving fans (oh and with two awesome prime steaks). Also signed up for one of their classes. Has become a Denville staple in a short time. Everything they make in store is excellent and they make most everything in store. Look beyond the top quality and creative cuts of meat and there really is a LOT to choose from locally sourced by the owner. You can't beat their house burger grind. They also have a really nice selection of cheeses, homemade pickles, olives, etc. and they stock a mouthwatering cured french dry sausage (Rosette de Lyon). I stopped in on Saturday for a dry aged prime rib. It was absolutely amazing! It was melt in your mouth delicious and was worth every penny. When I was there, the owner spent time preparing and tying up the fat cap and explaining to me why you do it and answered all my questions on how to properly prepare such a beautiful piece of beef. After following his instructions, my family enjoyed the greatest piece of beef any of them have ever dug into! The compliments were non-stop. I go to Denville Meat Shop several times a week, usually for a house marinated flank steak, house bacon, fresh eggs, soup and sweet potato hash, however, this was a special occasion to grab some dry aged beef. Needless to say, my family and I will find more special occasions to come back! Thanks for being there DMS and providing such healthy, delicious, local sourced meats for my family and friends. The greatest steaks I've ever bought in my life were from DMS. Their delicious chili, Cuban sandwiches, mojo chicken, and even their homemade baked beans are unmatched by anybody in the state. Bought amazing ribeyes from Denville Meat Shop last weekend and my guests and I agreed they were some of the best steaks we've had.
Just pristine quality ingredients.
Staff is helpful and friendly.
The prepared food options are great and everything I've tried from meatloaf to creamed spinach to cheesy scalloped potatoes are better than you can get at restaurants.

We just had our first meal delivery tonight. I was dubious at first, but portions were perfect, salad, fresh with lots of good stuff in it. We had a hot plated meal in 30 minutes. No cleanup at all!!! I can’t wait to try our next two meals on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Tonight was Lasagna, next up Pork Loin and then the Beef with red wine sauce. Love the quality meats, sides and other items at the Denville Meat Shop. I wish I lived closer. Their house made hot dogs are the best I've ever had and we get them every time we can get to Denville (and I'm not generally a fan of hot dogs). Their dry aged bourbon rib-eye steak is amazing as well as all their steaks and burgers. Way better than what's offered at the supermarket. We went to a seafood cooking class last night at Denville Meat Shop. Yes, a seafood class in a meat shop. If you haven't tried this place yet, it's a must. The class was very informative and then you get to sit down and have dinner. The food was so good, the freshest fish and crab! It's BYOB and a really enjoyable night with friends or on your own. Not only do they have great meat but a vegetarian can find wonderful fresh veggies already cooked and waiting to go home. Plus the best fresh basil salad dressing. Try it out!! More...

Don and I support all of our local small business friends. We absolutely Love Jeff and his staff as they are knowledgeable and friendly.
