We were in a major time crunch and Valon came in and did a huge amount of work in a single day. On top of painting the bedroom with its extensive trimwork and multiple closet doors, they also fixed the holes and cracks in our stairwell's plaster walls, and cleaned up everything as well. Val & his guys Nick & John and crew did a great job with a challenging project. Painting the house was the easy part and the colours and paint look great not to mention a back wall that required major repair after cabinets were removed. There were 2 additional tough challenges that I asked to be done that frankly I wasn't very confident on a successful outcome but took my chances based on Val's assurances it would work.
1. Was to match the previously stained oak railings, posts and floor nosing piece to match new ASH mat finished floors. I figured at best I would get about an 85% match but they came closer to 100% and totally exceeded my expectations. 2. Paint Oak wall units / glass cabinetry in family room to match new painted kitchen cabinets. This was meticulous work and required careful taping around glass windows etc. They set up a spray paint shop up with plastic sheets in my garage and carefully primed, sand, and 2 coats of sprayed paint to look like a cabinetry finish. Other than the oak grains in some areas you can't tell the different. My sister-in-law saw the new reno for the first time and said I didn't know you were replacing the F/R cabinets and I said we didn't, we just had them painted. She had to get up close to actually be able to tell and couldn't believe the look. Overall real happy with the job & value for what we paid. Not the cheapest but well worth the little bit extra. Valon and his team did a fabulous job on my 2nd floor painting job. Not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. Impressed that they use a sprayer to apply paint to trim and doors for a lovely smooth professional finish. (Not many companies use it) Beautiful clean edges, and Mario (primary painter) fixed up some flaws left after the Drywallers primed, before painting which was great. They were careful to apply drop sheets everywhere to protect my bathroom fixtures etc. They were patient as we had to decide which wall colour to go with. They stood behind their work, and came back to do touch ups and to fix a scratch on a door which wasn’t their fault, but not mine either (it came with a scratch from the door company unbeknownst to us) at no extra cost because he wanted to make sure we were pleased with their work. I had an excellent painter I had used for years, but unfortunately he left town. After checking the reviews on HomeStars, I decided to try Demiri Painting, and it turned out to be a great choice. Although my job was fairly small (a traditional front porch + front exterior windows) I got great, courteous service from Val (the owner). The job was really well done (I'm pretty picky about painting) and Val's crew was friendly and hard working. Val, the owner, took my call right away, assessed my small job over the phone and understood completely what my priorities for this job were. And boy did he deliver! Within 24 hours of speaking to him, the job was completed and done well! Fast, good, and affordable is practically impossible to find but Val delivered in spades! The person who he sent to paint my rental was polite, left the place clean, and went above and beyond, even painting a little extra because he knew I wanted the place to look rent-worthy. I am thrilled with the job they did and can't recommend them enough. I will be hiring them for all my properties, both cheaper rentals, and high end residential work. Valon and John painted the second floor of our 2 story building and re-dry walled a wall for us that had been removed during renovations. From the start they were very helpful with choosing the right paint for walls, ceiling and trim. We found them to be professional, informative, detailed and reliable. I wanted my condo painted in a hurry and made the request for a quote during the weekend. Valon called me on the sunday and turned up right on time, which gave me a really good feeling about his company and team. We hired Val to paint our recently purchased home. We've hired painters in the past and Val was a cut above the rest: He was meticulous, clean, quick, and very detail oriented. Val was quick to notice the prior paint job to our bannister would need a particular type of paint to cover it (something other contractors did not notice). Best of all, his work was outstanding, and his price was reasonable When we needed touch ups (due to damage done by other contractors) Val came by within the week to bring the condition of the paint job back where he left it - and at no cost.Also, Val was extremely easy to deal with - even the other contractors were commenting on the quality of Val's work and how easy he was to get along with.If you're consider hiring a top-of-the-line painter, Val is the guy you need. Val was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. From the day I called him, he did his best to accommodate our schedule and get started as soon as he was available. Our house had just undergone a major reno and Val was very careful and mindful of that. They covered the floors, kitchen area and even wrapped our stair rails. I had forgotten to move furniture out of the way of walls that needed painting and Val offered to do this for us and even put the furniture back when he was done. We really appreciated all of those gestures. The paint job was completed within the expected timeline. I did my homework before receiving 5 estimates from other Homestars companies with good reviews, but no one seemed to be the right fit. I started my search in March and had a highly recommended local painter (not on Homestars) hired for June when out of the blue in June, he said he couldn't paint my house. Disillusioned, I called my local paint store, Decorating Elements on Royal York who recommended, Demiri Painting and Decorating. When I asked for another company name, they would not recommend anyone else. That spoke volumes! From day one upon meeting Val, I felt a connection. He's very informative, honest and highly
dedicated to making his customer happy. We communicated well (very important to me) and I had confidence he was the one to do the job. Val's team, John, Engin and Mike are a dream. They arrived every day on time in good spirits, worked hard and long with attention to detail, always leaving the work site neat and tidy. They removed very old painted wall paper (not the kind that is meant to be painted) on walls and ceiling of 2 bedrooms, lots of plastering and sanding on old cracked uneven lathe and plaster walls, used special conversion paint from oil to latex on all surfaces before painting could even start. The star of their efforts was the complete transformation of all the old dark stained wood trim, doors, fireplace and staircase with a beautiful custom matching dark stain and varathane. (Most companies wanted to paint it all white.) This was not an easy job and I'm not easy to please! I'm in awe!!! The walls are unbelievably smooth and all the wood is so rich and gleams like new. This company went above and beyond my expectations. They moved my furniture out, covered whatever remained and moved it all back. John even removed and replaced all the light fixtures/ceiling fan for safe keeping. (A great chance for me to give them a good cleaning.)
