DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOORS TO THIS COMPANY!!!!
SOPHIA (WHO EVER THAT IS!???) WILL LIE TO YOU AND THEN STOP COMMUNICATING ALL TOGETHER! SHE HELD MY DOORS FOR OVER (2) MONTHS COMPLETELY IGNORING MY COMMUNICATIONS AND WHEN SHE GOT AROUND TO IT I GOT SOME KIND OF BS EXCUSE ABOUT HER KID...REALLY!!!! SHE WILL PROMISE YOU A DUE DATE AND THEN BLOWS YOU OFF AND YOU DO NOT HEAR FROM THIS PERSON UNTIL YOU THREATEN LEGAL ACTION.
WHEN MY DOORS WERE FINALLY RETURNED MY 100+ YEAR OLD GLASS WAS STAINED AND COMPLETELY RUINED!!!
THIS COMPANY IS A LESS THAN ZERO STAR...LOSERS!

I had five doors (relatively simple doors, five panel, no intricate engravings or details) that needed just about 100 years of paint stripped off. I removed all the hardware and started to strip one door myself and right away knew I needed help. The mess, the fumes, the time, did I mention mess, and I wasn't even through two layers of paint on one door. I did some research, found out the expected cost to have this done by professionals. I found Degamba kind of by luck and contacted them to have the work done. I liked that they've been in business for something like 50 years in the same Park Slope location. I felt these were Brooklyn guys at least as long as I have been a Brooklyn guy and I felt I could communicate easily with them. Their price was completely fair. For a reasonable fee they picked the doors up curbside/driveway and when finished, delivered them back to curbside/driveway.John, my contact person, was completely upfront with the costs, time to get the job done (about a week) and was on time with pick up and delivery. Professionally these guys were A+. I find it difficult to find people/companies that can communicate these days.I wasn't sure exactly what to expect since I'm a very experienced DIY guy and never paid to have doors or any wood stripped before. I love the doors. Without a doubt they did a better job than I could have and that's the whole point of paying professionals in my opinion. Maybe I could have done it, but honestly it would have taken me many months working an hour at a time. Time is money, What is your time worth? I wouldn't have the space for the ongoing project/mess. My only regret is that I waited so long to have this work done.If you live in a small space (no work area), have kids or pets (fumes), not really a DIY person (building IKEA furniture in not DIY, corrosive chemicals are usually involved in paint stripping, real danger involved), have a full time job? Save yourself the trouble and call Degamba. More...
