What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe the secret to taking a great photograph is setting the scene, perfect timing and understanding light.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I usually like to speak to the client directly on the phone, or in person, so we can discuss exactly how they want the project photographed.
What do you love most about your job?
I love it when I send the finished product and the customer is delighted with the finished result.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Our journey, or maybe our fate, started back in 2009, whilst contemplating our work life and dreaming of making a living out of something that we loved to do..... our Photography and Videography.
We had enjoyed filming promotional films for the charity I worked for and these are still used today for tender purposes. By chance, we then went on to film a friends wedding, which looking back was a 'Defining Moment' so we named our first company after it. www.defining-moments.net
After the success of Defining Moments Videography, we discovered there was a need to develop our company into the commercial and lifestyle sector, concentrating on the things we love to photography/film. So that's the story so far, but the rest is unwritten.

We can make delivery of any photographs via our website where they can be downloaded or bought or I can send them to you via WeTranser. With regard to our videos, you would receive a Vimeo link.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We will abide by all safety guidelines to keep you safe, including social distancing, extra cleaning and wearing masks inside. Outside family photography will be limited to five people at the moment.
Family Photography
Natural photography in an outside location. Mini sessions to fit every budget of 20 mins. Other sessions also available for an hour to give more time and also more digital images.
Property Photography
We love photographing property and architecture and have had many of our photographs published in local magazines, such as Hampshire Life, & The Lady and websites such as; Coolstays, Sawdays & Host Unusual. We have also photographed Hotels and Spas in Cornwall and Devon, including food from the menu.
Weddings
I always photograph weddings with my husband Pete, so we are both capturing those moments from different angles or covering different parts of the wedding. We have a very natural photography style with comfortable poses and try to give you time to enjoy your day with your guests instead of making the whole day a photoshoot.
