Eclectic cafe shop in Larue area of west St.Louis . Ordered everything bagel with cream cheese and a chai latte. Plenty of table and couch seating. Tucked away in a small shop center, this has a local feel and is a nice spot to meet up vs. the big chain coffee cafes.  I was meeting someone new, and we actually went to different Deer Creek locations by mistake, oops!  So FYI, they have two locations, one near Frontenac (on Clayton Rd), and one just across from the Galleria mall.Having visited both in one morning, I preferred the quaint cafe atmosphere of the Clayton location, although the parking is very limited.I ordered an iced coffee which was chilled and strong flavored, but adding some cream and sugar made it smooth and delicious.I didn't order food, but their menu board has a lot to offer, so I look forward to coming back to try their breakfast and lunch items.  Reasonable prices expect to pay ~$10pp if having a beverage and bite to eat.Check it out if you want a local coffee cafe experience.  Cheers, enjoy! This is one of my favorite places to spend a few hours working over a hot cup of coffee! I'm always amazed by their food selection, as well, which I always appreciate while working at a coffee shop. All of my fellow yelpers who are hungry every hour know what I'm talking about.The wifi here is great, the staff is friendly, and everything I've tried on the menu has been excellent. I highly recommend the egg platter for breakfast, which comes with two scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon, pork, sausage, or chorizo. For lunch, I love the Clayton sandwich: roasted balsamic portobello mushrooms, pesto spread, zucchini, red peppers, fresh spinach, and melted Swiss on a French baguette. So good! I had a short break between appointments while I was in this area and chose Deer Creek Coffee for a place to grab a bite to eat and get a few minutes of internet time. I'm so glad I did! The menu looked so good, I wish I had time to order a meal. Instead a grabbed a quick chocolate muffin (YUM!). There were plenty of open tables mid-morning on a weekday. I love coming here for their crepes!  They have buckwheat (gluten free) and sweet crepes.  They are fine with substitutions.  Sandwiches can have gluten-free bread for a sight upcharge. The cashiers/servers are very personable. Forget Starbucks! Seriously. Deer Creek has the BEST chai tea lattes and muffins in town!!! Everyone was so nice there and the service was incredibly fast! Definitely recommend going there for your morning cup of joe! I'm so, so picky about the caffeinated products I consume (tea, coffee, etc), but especially chai tea lattes and I've literally never had a better one and I've had several from around the world! I really enjoy this place!  The food is excellent.  Take your time when ordering - they have a huge menu that takes up an entire wall!  I love their chicken noodle soup and their spinach salad.  My dad either gets the chicken salad on wheat bread or the bagel and lox.  The breakfast menu is wonderful! I like their egg sandwiches.  Their baked goods are awesome!  I just ordered pies and breakfast breads for Thanksgiving.  We had them last year and they were delicious!My mom and dad who are in their 80's come here at least 3 times a week and the staff is so nice to them!  (And to me, too!) There is always a nice crowd but it's usually easy to find a table. On any given day you might see moms with toddlers, business people, and teenagers through seniors.  It's a good mix! More...

The title "coffee shop" does no justice for this hidden gem. Yes, they have great coffee but they also have an exquisite menu. I was here in the morning so I had breakfast. While themenu offers several awesome looking choices such as the Nutella Crepe and a breakfast burrito, I opted for a traditional breakfast. I had the egg platter.  This was wonderfully simple. Zac- i had been a regular a Nadoz for well over a year. i was extremely happy that it was bought out by Deer Creek Coffee. also happy that they kept some of the menu items from Nadoz as the chicken salad is still one of my favorites. I work in the blvd and Deer Creek is great for me cause of the low wait times and how fast and friendly everyone is to me. First off, all I can say is wow ! What an excellent staff ! So knowledgeable and friendly ! Hands down one of my favourite coffee places to go to . So, in general I really like the food and atmosphere here, though I do think it’s slightly over priced. But I’m sitting in the cafe right now and just watched someone who works in the back walk out of the ladies room, walk behind the counter and stick her ungloved hand into the ice reserve under the soda machine and pop a piece of ice into her mouth. Even if she did wash her hands in the restroom, that’s just gross. I won’t be back.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner who assured me that this behavior would not be tolerated at the cafe and that he would follow up with the employees. I am changing my rating to four stars. I’d give five but am taking away a star for this having happened in the first place. I feel fine about returning to this establishment now. Thanks Kent! More...

Great location and quality experience. The smoothies are incredible and the atmosphere is definitely ideal for an afternoon bite or to finish up a book. They also host events and brunches for holidays which is such a great plus! They even have an art well to sell local artists art, which is such smart business move to stay connected to the community. We happen to run across this while at Crate & Barrel. Our next stop was Barnes and Noble in Fairview Heights. My husband asked if I wanted coffee from here or just get something from Starbucks. I dared to be different and I am so very glad I did. We both got ice caramel lattes and fell in love. These are the best lattes we have ever had. I came by Dear Creek Cafe to get some work done. I'd heard of it before but never bothered stopping by. It's a bit off the beaten path for me. It's a pretty eclectic and homey coffee shop. Kind of out of the norm for Frontenac. Everything in this area is usually very clean and uniform. It had more of a Tower Grove vibe which overall is a compliment. They have a big drink menu and food menu. Tons of options all around. I went with a cold brew coffee. I think a lot of coffee shops don't cut the concentrate enough and it makes it super strong. Deer Creeks is a great balance. And yes, I did get some food.You can make a breakfast sandwich pretty much any way you like it. Choose the bread, choose the insides,  CHOOSE IT ALL! I got the whole wheat with egg and bacon. Tasted just like I make it at home...probably a little better here though ;)If I'm ever in the area and need a coffee shop, I'll definitely come back. LOVE everything about Deer Creek. Started coming here regularly and have never had anything to complain about. The staff is genuinely amazing, funny, and are some of my favorite people to start every morning with. The vibe here is amazing, and I haven't tried a pastry here I have not liked.
