We have known Tina Barrette, the owner of Décor Muse, for many years but have not had the opportunity to work with her professionally until recently. We bought a ten-year old lake house that needed a major update. Although we live in Florida and Tina is based in Dallas, we wanted her as our designer and she flew to Tampa to have a look. As they say the rest is history; Tina and Décor Muse did a beautiful job.

I should add that I have strong likes and dislikes and I am not the easiest person to work with. Tina has the talent and confidence to really listen to her clients and successfully incorporate their ideas and desires into her design. We hired Tina to help us with a home we purchased in a very desirable neighborhood, only thing was the inside of the home was less than desirable. We didn’t realize how lucky we were when we met Tina, but very quickly we realized we were in great hands!

To say that "Tina is worth every penny" is such an understatement. We purchased a 40 year-old home that needed to be completely gutted and redone. My only regret is that I didn't hire Tina until after I had already done two rooms without her. From our very first meeting, she immediately put me at ease, took control, and greatly reduced the anxiety that comes with remodeling a home. She was able to pick up on our style right away and provided us with the most amazing samples. We wanted our house to be "one-of-a-kind" and Tina helped make our dream a reality. From our very first meeting with Tina @ Decor Muse I knew I had the right person for our project. We did a complete main floor remodel, and completely gutted the kitchen, including new cabinets within a very compressed timeline. I've worked with Tina at Decor Muse for two of the biggest remodels a house can have- Kitchen in 2014 and Master Bath in 2016. She really listened to what I wanted and made great suggestions to ensure the projects both turned out beautiful. She is very professional, easy to work with, and answered emails and phone calls in a timely manner. I really like that she works with the same pros all the time so I never felt uneasy about allowing them in my house and was sure that the quality of the work would be excellent. She doesn't sacrifice quality to save a few dollars, but is very reasonable for her services. I've worked with other decorators before who gouge you for everything. Tina doesn't do any of that and helps with cost by utilizing all the discounts she has access to. She has made two potentially difficult remodels as easy as possible. I highly recommend her. More...

The only thing we knew when starting the master bath remodel was that we wanted it remodeled. Not having a good eye for the design, fixtures, layout, etc. getting Tina involved from the beginning seemed smart. The smartest thing we did was get Tina involved. She took the reins and led us through the process with professional expertise, experience, and a bevy of experienced contractors to do the heavy lifting. I have done remodeling three different ways in my lifetime: the “by myself way” – where I do all the work even though I’m not a pro; the “hiring of unknown contractors way” all the while hoping that they do a good job, and the “finding Tina, the designer way”! I have to say that finding Tina the designer way has been a blessing – in so many ways. I had never hired a designer – but I reached out to her years ago. So glad that I did as she has amazing ideas which she shares with you once she assesses your style and your likes/dislikes. She arranges all the work with her chosen contractors and oversees every detail. No more keeping your fingers crossed that you picked a good contractor or wondering if they will show up; or whether they truly know what they are doing in your house! Tina has helped us basically re-decorate almost our entire home in the last few years. From my husband's office with the gorgeous custom cabinetry and fabric-covered walls, to our expanded and re-designed media/game room upstairs, we truly love our home now for its beauty AND its functionality. She helped us find one-of-a-kind pieces of art and lighting that truly fit our personality. I am so incredibly happy with my new kitchen! Tina is professional and knowledgable and pays great attention to detail. My project was large, including knocking down walls, complete demolition of my existing kitchen, replacement of almost all downstairs flooring and repainting the entire kitchen and living areas, yet it was finished in a timely manner. She communicates clearly and responds to phone calls and texts promptly. Her crew does high quality work and is professional.

I loved working with Tina from Decor Muse!! She re-designed several rooms in my home--kitchen, master bath, master bedroom, family room, office, dining room, and powder room. Instead of giving everything a simple facelift, she made our space magnificent! Our home is warm and inviting now, and exactly what we wanted! It is current, but doesn't look cookie-cutter, and you won't see it repeated in anybody else's house.

Tina is a professional, but she also becomes family after you work with her. She is FUN to work with and very personable. She quickly figures-out your taste and how much you want to be involved in the designing process. You can go with her on shopping trips, or if you are overwhelmed, she will bring you choices. She is spot-on in taking your "likes" and elevating your look and making it ten times better than you ever conceived! I was simply amazed at how she can work with her trades groups to pull a room together--taking it down to the studs and building it back up again to something incredible! When there are hiccups (because there are always are in big projects--we remodeled many rooms), she gets things back on schedule with the trades, and it doesn't become your headache.
