Engine Room has the best workout ethos you will find. The best, friendliest trainers, great facilities and challenging programs to get you the results you want. I cannot rave enough about the team and how they have helped me achieve my goals. Truly great gym and community environment. Cannot praise the trainers enough for their thoughtful approach and watchful coaching throughout all sessions. The atompshere is the opposite to most class dynamics elsewhere in London, smaller intimate workouts, no intimidation or sacrificing form to get the calorie burn. Highly recommend. Early morning and late PM classes for those with long working days is a plus too. As another reviewer mentioned, great facilities downstairs to shower, blow dry, GHDs etc! More...

Been trying to lose weight and going to different gyms for the last 10 years, this is the best gym I've ever been to and the first where i've been able to see gains. On top of this, going here doesn't feel like your doing a chore, but more like visiting friends who smile to you when you walk by and genuinely care about you which is a huge factor in getting the motivation to keep going. Passionate, precise, progressive coaching. Amazing experience AMAZING and transformative I could go on but the stats speak for themselves; between Jan 2nd-Feb 4th 2023, I lost 8.5 inches, 3.2kg of fat, 8 years off my metabolic age and gained 2.8kg of muscle. A friend who works in the fitness industry recommended The Engine Room- I’d never lifted weights before so I was really apprehensive and a bit scared! But it has been incredible. From the moment I made contact it’s been friendly and accessible. Amber answered all my many questions. Chris, Jamie and Bailey are all excellent highly skilled, knowledgeable coaches and push you to perform your very best on each visit with personalised tips which deliver results. I combined 2 SPGT (55min) with two classes (45min) a week, classes run literally all day so there is always something available and was manageable with my full time job. I Followed ‘roughly’ (I am a pizza and wine lover!) the veggie meal plan I was given and saw results quickly. Started lifting 21Kg weights with squats and got up to 47Kg in just 8 weeks. The venue, equipment and lights are all fantastic. Towels, toiletries, hairdryers, GHDs all provided so all you need to remember to pack is your gym kit! My GP prescribed me HRT last year for low oestrogen, low mood and general lethargy. I didn’t take the HRT after reading the side effects and seriously don’t feel like I need it now having been going to the Engine Room regularly for two months. The Engine Room is definately the best prescription for physical and mental wellbeing- I can’t recommend it enough! Getting into my size 10 jeans for the first time since 2019 is an added bonus! I haven't felt more encouraged, supported or positively challenged by any place in the way that Engine Room gives. Beyond the professional guidance and structured phased workouts (with key milestones to measure performance and reset goals), the team bring a true sense of honesty, openness, character and delight to an environment that many can feel may feel hesitant or intimidated by. I attended a full body workout and an upper body session last week with Chris and Jamie and I found them absolutely amazing. Their attention to details and professionalism made me feel calm and ready for any challenge. They were very attentive and generous with their time- explaining any move and what area is targeted. Jamie‘s rowing workout is great. First, he’s pushing you to go where it hurts, so you can improve. Second, his core exercises teaches to prevent injuries, and helps with any type of fitness goal, be it rowing, lifting, or other sports. If you want the best rowing experience or class you have to go to the Engine Room near Regents Park. Try it yourself or with some friends for a competitive session. Take your business team for some bonding or challenge your client for some relationship building. I simply cannot recommend this place highly enough. A welcoming, comprehensive and family-feel gym in the heart of London. My partner and I are getting married in September and signed up to their 30 day trial, it was absolutely brilliant. We couldn't get enough of the classes! We will be joining full time as a result of our positive experience. Trainers The trainers are all really knowledgable and approachable, we particularly enjoyed their 'small group personal training' sessions, which give you the attention of a one-to-one training session, but in a small and dynamic, sociable group setting. We were mainly trained by Jamie, who was always enthusiastic, motivating and highly professional. We had so much fun. Facilities The facilities are also brilliant - clean, well thought out - with lovely finishing touches such as GHDs, fresh towels and lovely shower soaps. Classes and Variety There's a great range of classes to do, the owners Chris and Kelly have really thought this through considering the needs of their clients. My personal favourite classes were Yoga with Hannah and Small Group Training with Jamie, whilst my partner really loved the Rowing with Chris. Technology Another great element of the training is that they provide you with a MyZone belt which helps to keep you motivated during sessions, and to focus on competing against yourself to improve each session. The Engine Room is my favourite place to workout. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the training facilities are top class. I found the small group personal training sessions incredibly rewarding and after 30 days I saw a massive improvement in both my physical and mental well-being. I love the competitive nature of the myzone technology and also the camaraderie within the sessions. All the trainers are brilliant at reinforcing and encouraging whilst making sure your technique and form is correct. I host life drawing hen parties here. The venue is very conveniently located, I used to have difficulty getting guests to find it, but they've updated their Google location and it's much better now. The staff are always friendly and helpful (with a knowing smile on their faces ;). The facilities are perfect for what I need with the chairs and desks provided. The gym is well equipped, the trainers are top notch and admin is on point. Workouts are thoughtfully designed and are consistently challenging. Where to start? I love this place.!! The Small Group Personal Training is literally the best thing I’ve ever done. The coaches are some of the best qualified in London and on a 121 basis I wouldn’t have been able to afford, but the small group membership has made it possible for me and it’s become part of my daily routine. `I lost 9lbs in the 30 day trial! I have been a member at The Engine Room since they launched the Small Group Personal Training. It’s fantastic value for money, especially with the level of coaches they have (unlike some gyms). I have never known another gym where you get such a lovely environment as well individualised coaching and result tracking. I can honestly say, everyone here is so friendly it’s like an extended family to me. The Engine Room may as well be a great gym but one cannot assess that if the place is closed when it’s supposed to be open as per Google Maps. I attempted to visit on 3/23/19 at 3:20pm. It’s a very worthy fitness club with quite a special rowing class and a gym for personal training. The premises are clean and modern yet it’s located in a wing of an old church and have a stunning round stairs and wooden door. Really great place for workout.

Due to a serious Achilles heel injury, the pounds soon went on my waist, so i decided to take up jogging along the seafront to shift it. But this became boring & monotonous. My trainer, Dennis advised me, the time of day i did my cardio-vascular training was just as important as to how intensely i worked or how far i go. He also introduced me to interval-training & the influence of meals. He gives a friendly & excellent service. I would recommend him to anyone. More...

Brilliant! Dennis is the best personal trainer by a country mile, I lost 17 pounds over 10 months and the whole experience was life changing. Only a move to Hanoi stopped me continuing my weekly sessions. Make no mistake it is hard work, especially the first three lessons, and you have to watch what you eat - you are allowed one cheat day a week- but it is so worth the effort. Highly recommended.
