DB CARPENTRY & REPAIR

Dave has been working on my "rescue house" in Providence for over a year now, on and off, on projects big and small (mostly big! ) He's done some sensitive demolition work on a large, precarious rotten porch and extensive reconstruction of my historic home's exterior including rebuilding the flare detail along the bottom of the second floor, sealing and finishing the roof edges to put an end to a water intrusion problem, and recreating several pieces of missing trim. Indoors he has done several structural repair projects for me from reinforcing floor joists with sister joists under my second floor bathroom to leveling a first floor room by putting a new support wall under it in the basement. He is definitely forever my porches and stairs guy--he jacked my front porch roof level and put in new columns, replaced my front porch stairs, and I intend to hire him later on when I'm ready to rebuild the big side porch! He's thrown around some ideas I really like for that one. Dave is kind, informative, and affordable. He's been an invaluable resource to me in figuring out what to prioritize and what not to worry so much about. Dave has done several projects for me at my home in Providence--a delicate deconstruction of a porch attached to a second floor cantilever, replacing columns on another porch, jacking up and reinforcing a sagging floor, replacing a whole rotted out stud wall, and lots of exterior work from putting on new shakes to replicating complicated historic trim details and window eyebrows. He's reliably on-site and on time, is accurate in his estimates of materials costs, produces a solid product, and was kind and nice to work with, adapting to things and anticipating my expectations as he got to know the project and my preferences better. Dave and another carpenter fixed doors in our house, replaced trim, sanded and restained our bay window, and a whole variety of other stuff that I've been meaning to do but if I did it myself I'd bungle. He came out promptly, pricing was very reasonable, and was super easy to work with. The work was done in less that 2 days. I'd definitely use DB Carpentry in the future. More...
