David teaches guitar in a way that made me understand immediately where I had been going wrong all my life.
Most importantly he teaches theory from the beginning, which is a great way to remember what you learn on the guitar.

I have been playing guitar for far too long to still be at the level I am. Partly it's due to lack of practice on my part, however I also have lots of blanks in my knowledge. David is really great at identifying where those gaps are and helping me past them, and in a way that is relighting my enthusiasm for the instrument all over again.

David is particularly good at identifying key issues that have held me back and helping me overcome them. He's really flexible with lesson timings too which helps me fit playing into my work schedule. More...

Been playing guitar for a few years at an average/intermediate level. Had 6 lessons with Dave and have been blow away by the knowledge I have acquired. We have essentially gone back to basics with him teaching my guitar theory on chords and scales, which has proven to be essential knowledge for me to overcome the plateau I have been at for so long. Highly recommend. I have been having lessons with Dave for 2 yrs now and can honestly say my playing, and also my understanding of the guitar and music has come on leaps and bounds. A relaxed environment, Dave's patience and a wealth of musical knowledge, coupled with the fact that he is an awesome player has helped me progress no end. David is a brilliant guitarist and a really nice bloke. He is teaching me the fundamentals and flexibility of the guitar so that I am able to create my own music, rather than just teaching me a few tunes. After trying to teach myself and going to evening classes, nothing and no-one has inspired me more to pick up the guitar again and keep practicing like David has.

His patience and understanding is awesome. He tailors each lesson by my progress, he pushes just enough to challenge my playing which is great as I can see the improvement myself and this makes me want to practice more.

David plays all genres and I would higly recommend him for the beginner or expert requiring that edge.

Dave is a fantastic guitar player, teacher and musician. I have been taking guitar lessons with David for 5 months now and since that time I feel my playing has substantially improved from before. He has taught me many different techniques and also has greatly helped in improving my understanding of music theory and has also helped with my growing interest in blues. David is very charismatic and very patient with teaching me, and will give me pointers throughout the lesson on techniques I should pick up on whilst playing, and old habits I should drop.As far as teaching goes David is an extremely talented guitar player and a very gifted teacher. His lessons are very flexible in terms of teaching you anything you are unsure about or anything you would like to increase your knowledge of; relating to music theory or just general guitar queries. He also excels in teaching you any song that you would like to learn; all by ear. this I found was very impressive and is a clear example of his experienced musicianship.Overall I find Davids lessons very enjoyably and overly helpful in helping me improve on my playing.
