About

I am a Narrative Therapist, but my goal with any individual(s) I work with is always focused on what works for them; I consider my job to be assisting others in finding their way to a more preferred version of themselves. I truly enjoy the privilege of working with people of all walks of life, and consider each client and their positioning in our world so that I can tailor my understanding to the specific client(s), who will always be the expert of their own story.

Q&As

I consider it an absolute privilege to be invited into the course of someone's journey through life. I consider my job to be primarily helping walk beside individuals, families, romantic and/or sexual partners, and others in order to help point out some paths that had perhaps not been seen, explore well-tread paths that now lead nowhere, and above all else - to help the person(s) in front of me to find their preferred self, and supporting them through it.

As an AMFT and APCC, it has been vitally important to me that I not compromise my ethics and values in the pursuit of my license. I have been extremely fortunate in that, finding Narrative Therapy early on in my career, and resonating with the ways in which the values match my own. Depathologization - I only diagnose at request of my client(s), I do my best to increase access by offering free advocacy for folks who have insurance about how to be reimbursed, I hold my duty as a confidant and the connections that are built through therapy very close to my heart. To accommodate all these things, and so many more, private practice was the most effective way to start branching out into the world beyond just the non-profit complex.

Some times that I might be a good choice to explore:
1) If they are looking for a transgender identified therapist, or if they/someone close to them, or their child is exploring gender and they would like support from someone both trans and professionally trained.
2) If they are tired of having to explain polyamoury, kink/BDSM, or radical political beliefs to their therapists, and end sessions feeling like they were the ones teaching their therapist.
3) If they are looking for a Narrative-focused therapist who utilizes a variety of methods to suit the individual(s) as people in a whole-life, contextually-based therapeutic experience.
4) If they do not want official diagnoses "on record"
5) If they are interested in exploring historical trauma experienced in the mental health field, and/or would like help understanding/navigating the process for filing a grievance against a mental health professional or agency which caused them harm.
