I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! Long story short: if you're curious, try it. Your first three classes are free! This school is something special. It's truly dedicated to the martial arts and practical self defense. There's even a quality personal trainer who shares the building. More...

The instructors here really care about their students and it shows. Everyone is pretty nice and helpful and help make DEMAS a welcoming place. They also set learning at a fair pace and make sure that you understand your fundamentals before introducing new content, which is good and something that's hard to get considering the amount of attention needed on an individual basis to do so. Davenriche European Martial Artes School (DEMAS) is a veritable treasure trove of all Medieval and Rennaissance martial arts. The staff here are respectful and highly knowledgeable, and work hard to help their students gain functional mastery over the various swords and hand to hand styles. It is an environment where questions are welcomed, and fundamental understanding is stressed rather than rote memorizarion of form. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn the European sword. More...

These guys are the bees knees. They really know they're stuff, and while they absolutely train hard and seriously, they also definitely know how to have a good time.

This school teaches the traditions of old and the skills of a bygone age. European martial arts is more than how to swing a sword or other weapon, it's a state of focus of the mind, this focus is useful in all of life. I could not be happier to be part of this school. More...

It's been three years since my first lesson where I became hooked on a new and fascinating world of martial arts, history, and genuine people from student to instructor who offer a safe and friendly learning environment that seeks to help everyone grow into the best individuals they can be! Thanks for everything DEMAS!!

I’ve been training here for over five years, hooked after my very first class. The instructors and curriculum are outstanding. Everyone is tremendously welcoming; no attitude whatsoever. Students range from kids 8+ to people in their 60s. I can’t recommend it enough. More...

Excellent school, all the instructors are very welcoming and knowledgeable. As a beginner I felt that they really care about teaching and getting new people up to speed, while perfecting the skills of longtime returning students. If you think swords and a variety of other martial art practices are cool, this is an excellent school to go. More...

After my grandparents died, I was really looking for a way to connect with my European heritage, as they had been from Ireland and Scotland respectively. There are surprisingly few resources in the area, so I was delighted to find DEMAS in practically my back yard. I decided to head over and check it out, but ended up watching from afar. I was afraid that, as a girl, I'd be rejected, or not taken seriously. When I finally did walk inside, I was greeted with enthusiasm by Chris, an instructor at the Salle. He invited me to stay awhile, watch some classes, sit in their cozy library chairs and talk to some other students. I stayed for 3 hours that day. I returned as soon as Steaphen (the main instructor and owner) was available to sign up. Unfortunately, as I began my training, life happened. And I was only able to attend a few classes. But I have always kept the flame alive that I will one day return and become the badass Celtic warrior princess that I know I am in my heart. The classes are very well instructed, exciting, challenging, fun, and fulfilling. I suggest that if you even have a remote interest, you check it out. You won't regret it. More...
