We are so happy that we chose Darrin to photograph our wedding! He is super easy and efficient to work with not to mention he takes the most beautiful pictures! He does a good job at making clients feel comfortable and has great ideas for cool shots. He went the extra mile for our wedding day when he wasn’t asked to do so. (came to church to look at potential first look spots and came to our rehearsal dinner to see what the flow of the wedding would look like) also he took care of directing the party bus during our free time which was great so we could enjoy time with our bridal party. Both me and my husband loved working with Darrin. What I love about his approach is that he can take two normal people (who rarely take pictures) and make them feel and look like models. For us capturing moments were more important than stale portraits and Darrin has a keen eye for that. His creativity and playfulness in planning shots is beyond compare. Having our engagement photos shot with him prior to the wedding was invaluable because it helped us develop our repoire. We completely trusted his direction the day of the wedding which helped get our photos done quickly and beautifully. Also we had the pleasure of working with his assistant Luchilla. Darrin Hackney was recommended to me by a friend. I visited his website and fell in love with the way he captured moments. My wedding was an all day event and he was there from when I started getting ready at 5 in the morning until we were wrapping up and 10 in the evening. He was also willing to do a last minute photo shoot the next weekend because we were not able to get all the personal pictures we wanted at the actual wedding itself. Talk about flexible! He took a lot of pictures, but not too many. He was very good at trying to capture the right moments at the right times and I really appreciated not having to sort through 1000 pictures. For an all day event, I had about 400 pictures to sort through. Trust me, I've seen some of my friends pictures and 1000-1500 pictures is A LOT to sort through. I was inhibited by not having ideas on my son's senior photos. We had the outfits, but that's about it. Darrin reminded me that he does that part. And he sure did! His choice of locations, backdrops and suggestions on which outfit to wear in each was spot-on. There is such a mixture of all the above, plus expressions on my son's face that Darrin captured, that I just couldnt be happier. Darrin was very professional the entire time, he directed where and how to stand, adjusted positions for himself and my son to get the best shots. And lighting...oh my gosh, Darrin is the master on lighting. There was one shot of my son on a football field during an overcast cloudy part of the day. Darrin's version was a fantastic shot of my son under a gorgeous, defined, moody sky. I wouldnt even consider another photographer.
