Darren did a set of photos for a product shoot for me last month. He completed the task on time and delivered the photos as promised. I worked with him on the shoot and noticed he has a strong attention to detail and a passion for making photos that captured my products in the best light. He is professional and communicates clearly. I would hire him again and I recommend him for anyone looking for an affordable product photographer in Chicago. More...

When I was launching my products, the package design company was hiring photographers and directors for a thousand of dollars per hour which ended up to be about a 3 hour session.
I then found Darren for an ad and we worked together for about the same amount of time and he charged me about 80% less with same quality. I trusted Darren so for all future projects, I'd drop of products and explain to him what I needed and take off. A few days later I'd get the beautiful results in my Dropbox.
Darren is so down to Earth, humble and friendly vs. other socially awkward artsy-fartsy photographers who rip you off and then think they're doing you a favor.

Found Darren on Craigslist and decided to do my product photography with him. I needed 10 high quality pictures. We spent 5 hrs shooting 10 pics, so you can imagine how professional and patient he was. The final product is outstanding. I can certainly tell that my product will stand out just because of the pictures alone. One of the reasons i like to choose a small business to get a job done is the customer service you get. Â Outstanding customer experience with Darren. Thank you.P.S. Don't forget, when you buy from a big business you buy it's CEO next Mercedes, but when you buy from a small business you feed a family. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I am certain that "secret" varies from one photographer to another.
For myself the secret is to maintain a very intimate understanding of the physical properties of light. I am always calculating, experimenting and learning new ways in which light "behaves" when introduced to a setting. I dream about light, I daydream about light. In photography light is EVERYTHING, and one will always have new concepts to experiment with and work with as long as we keep our minds open to new possibilities.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What feeling do you hope to invoke within a potential customer when that person views the images?
Can you provide basic examples of your desired results by showing me samples of similar photography you have collected from the internet?
What do you love most about your job?
The challenge of combining my technical knowledge of photography with my creative/artistic values so that I will accurately produce the results my client seeks and surpass my client's expectations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As the business owner I am able to define my business practices, goals and ethics to satisfy my own values.
Why should our clients choose you?
I give everyone 100% of myself on every assignment I accept. Every client receives my best and highest quality commercially sound imagery regardless of the size of the project and budget.
