As a designer-maker, working on your own, you don’t get much time for anything other than designing and making. Everything else is pushed to the edges. And that includes defining and developing a brand image – no matter how important that it is for business.

I was introduced to Dan through a mutual friend, and he offered to help. We worked collaboratively, and the whole process was as smooth as silk chiffon – he held my hand through all the stages that would have otherwise been a minefield for me.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the results, as now I feel I’ve entered the real world with a brand image I’m thoroughly proud of.

Q&As

First of all, we need to define and agree on a brief. Once we've done that, I'll price the job. I'll supply a range of design concepts, each one coming at the brief from a different angle.

1 – RESEARCH
To start with, I'll build up a library of visual resource and inspiration to help establish a possible design direction. I'll also endeavour to gain an understanding of the client's target market, competitor landscape, and other factors that could have a bearing on the thought process.

2 – CREATION
While the first idea may look the most appealing, how do you know it's the best when you haven't explored alternatives? During the creation stage, I'll explore possible design directions and reject those that I don't think work. It's my job only to recommend what I feel will be the best possible range of solutions. Many designers will only give you one, ''definitive'' answer. However, in life, I like having choices, to be able to decide on what I want, from a range of options. I imagine clients do too. So that's what they'll get from me.

3 – DIGITIZING AND REFINEMENT
Now we move to digitize, which is where the final form starts to emerge. I'll be completely transparent and explain every design decision, giving the client every opportunity to feedback and ask questions. I'll go through every detail and show how the design will help achieve the goals we agreed at the brief stage.

4 – DEVELOPMENT AND ARTWORK
Once we've decided on the final design, it's time to get technical – from digital files for the website developers to artwork for the printers.

5 – DELIVERY OF ASSETS
After the final payment has been received, the design work will become the clients.

As much as possible, but as all clients and briefs are different, there’s no catch-all answer to this question.

Helping people who are passionate about growing their business.

The main inspiration came from the fact that I was to have complete creative freedom to produce work that makes a difference to businesses.

Experience is everything. I’ve worked in some of the largest, award-winning agencies in London for over 15 years.

On top of that, my prices are affordable, and my work is proven always to meet its primary objective – to help businesses succeed.
