We booked an overnight stay with dinner included. The lady on reception (Shannon) who seemed to be everywhere, serving behind the bar, helping out in the restaurant was brilliant from when we checked in until we left. She was very helpful arranging lunch, dinner bookings etc. The rooms were clean and tidy albeit slightly dated. Had a birthday meal their with all my family service was ok but there was a few things that we ordered that they didn't have vanilla ice cream for the kids, mayonnaise , and served sweet cream instead of sour cream for the fajitas.

Being a Scottish person who has not lived there for 20 years it was nice to have a 'traditional ' breakfast but not every day for 4 breakfasts. +Staff and evening meal great room was large so was bed. -A bit dated and no lift which my mum required no bath breakfast very basic like crossiant s would prefer fresh tea didn't have fried eggs just scrambled.

Had a lovely weekend away to here staff were excellent couldn’t do enough meals were very responsibly priced and were good quality food the room was excellent and the hotel itself had a lot of character to it I would recommend anyone to try here but don’t be harsh as it’s an older building there was five of us and we look forward to a return visit

Always a good atmosphere and in the summer it's beautiful to sit outside and look at the views, good food and a great venue for all kinds of events, still some tlc needed but the new owners will get there, making great changes already

Although there are areas that could do with a touch up of paint on the whole it was very well presented especially the dining room. The meals were delicious, reasonably priced and plentiful. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. There are bus stops outside the hotel from which you can travel to Glasgow. We stayed for one night and had dinner in the hotel. The menu was very good and inexpensive. The room was spacious and clean. No bath but a modern shower with really hot water The bed was comfortable. At first the room was very cools but it was 0 degrees outside. Bothered was an additional convector heater in the room which warmed it in no time at all. The breakfast was very good with the food piping hot and the staff were always really friendly and helpful. The only criticism was that the bar did not sell heavy or export beer just lager. A surprising range of spirits with different types of gin on offer. Bar prices were really reasonable.
