We adore DPlay. It is really impossible to tell you how incredible they are and how much fun they brought to our reception. We've had people calling us (for 2 months) to tell us how much they enjoyed the band. John is so easy to get in contact with and communicate with and he is so flexible with planning. He completely guided us through picking our music and how we wanted the reception to be, and they band delivered 5 times over. They played music from every genre and interacted with our guests and bridal party so much that EVERYONE was dancing. After our reception our photographers exact words were "GUYS! THAT reception was INCREDIBLE" and it's all thanks to DPlay. I hope we have another occasion to call them again, we love DPlay and we will definitely be going to see them the next time they're playing in Jackson. What an amazing fun and professional band!! Not only are they awesome musicians, but they are just downright fun to work with. My wedding client was over the moon with their performance. As an event designer and planner is it such a terrific feeling knowing you can depend on the band to do what they need to do with little direction. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't book D Play for your wedding just know that no matter what you do...it could have been better if these guys were rocking your reception.
They are incredibly professional and best of all actually incredibly talented! We elected to go for the full horn section and extra singer and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life.
Let me tell you...we had a big amazing wedding at Race + Religious with spectacular food, flowers, etc...EVERYONE still talks about our band.
D Play will take the time to get to know you and to get to know your style and personalities...then you just have to let go and trust them to take your guests on a 3 hour long ride of awesome. They are able to read the crowd and choose songs that will keep the party moving and the dance floor full!
They were also AMAZING with accommodating learning our special songs. I HATE when you have a band and then all of the sudden they have to play the Mother-Son dance song through speakers...not these guys...they owned "My Wish," "La Vie en Rose," and "Got You Babe." It was beyond special.
OH MY FAVORITE FAVORITE!!!! If you do a second-line (which obviously you should) they changed it up and, in addition to that first traditional second-line song, they played brassed up versions of, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "Lovely Day." It was so freaking cool.
Any way...this is hands down the best band I or anyone at my wedding has EVER heard at ANY event. They literally made the night.

My husband and I couldn't have chosen a better band for our wedding reception! They were AMAZING! Our guests cannot stop talking about how much fun they had because of the awesome band. D Play was so easy to communicate with, and they made sure they made our night exactly what we envisioned. Both my husband and I ended up on stage dancing with them! They sent us an extensive song list and allowed us to give suggestions of our favorite songs, and they even offered to learn new songs that we love. They kept the party going the whole night, and they were great at getting the crowd involved. If you are looking to dance all night, then you should definitely consider D Play! More...

It's hard to put into words how amazing and FUN this band was! They performed at our wedding reception a couple weeks ago and blew everyone away with their talent! !!! We had the best time with DPlay! They even had my parents dancing... my mom actually called me yesterday wanting me to find out when they were performing next and where (she wants to be a groupie)! But seriously DPlay can perform such a variety of genres... their song selection is amazing and they sound phenomenal!!!!! They even let me and my husband sing and dance on stage with them multiple times. Do yourself a favor and book this band!!!!!! It will be the best and easiest wedding planning decision you make. D Play played for our daughter's wedding on Saturday night and when I tell you there was not a dance floor big enough to hold the amount of people who wanted to get up and dance, that is NO LIE! It was SO packed on the dance floor that I had to contact the manager of the Federal Ballroom to ask her where the GOBO was that I ordered for the wedding because I didn't see it! She said that I didn't see it because the dance floor was never EMPTY --- it was on the DANCE FLOOR!!!! She showed it to me BEFORE the wedding started! When I tell you there isn't one song from ANY era that this band couldn't play, I'm not kidding. The more the crowd got jazzed up (and this crowd was pretty wild), the more the band played to them! What an AWESOME night! If you have not heard of this band OR seen them in person, check out their schedule and GO SEE THEM and book them for your event ASAP!!! They are worth EVERY penny and MORE!!! DPlay was mindblowingly amazing and turned our wedding into the epic party we always wanted. This band does not even compare to any other wedding band option as their talent, is head and shoulders above anything else we’ve seen at a wedding.
Where else can you have a band with three amazing vocalists (2 female and one male), a funky three piece horn section, drums, guitar, and bass guitar that can play almost any significant hit of the last five decades and also know how to read the room to keep the crowd groovin? They’ll even learn up to three songs if they don’t already know it (and they likely already do, their song list was nearly 400 songs). From the beginning of the reception, they had the crowd moving...people were already dancing before my bride and I’s first dance in the typically awkward beginning part of the reception, they laid down hits like “Signed Sealed Delivered” and guests young and old couldn’t help but getting to the dancefloor earlier than expected. There were so many moments when it didn’t seem like they could build the energy up even further, but every time they found a way to continue to kill it. Towards the end of the reception, the layed down “Hey Jude” followed up with “All I Do is Win” and even though this seems like an odd combination, they had the crowd screaming and jamming harder than any other wedding crowd I’ve ever seen.
They also made us feel really special throughout. Towards the end of the reception, they brought us on stage and we felt like the King and Queen. DPlay also led our second line and they made the transition from the stage to the street extremely seamless. They were also incredible on the second line and it was pretty powerful to have such a huge band lead our parade through the streets of New Orleans. We had requested a tuba and they were able to also get a tuba to join the band for the second line portion which was awesome.
After it was all over, our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the band was. Dplay was a clear highlight and they went out of their way to make our wedding day the best party that any of our guests had been a part of.
