I am the Treasurer of the North London Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. Let down at the last minute by the videographer we had booked months before, I posted the job of recording an evening of musical performances on Bark. I chose Mike Purdy of Cygna.tv and was extremely happy that I did so. Mike was a pleasure to work with throughout the project. He was professional, constructive and flexible at all times, and also good fun to work with. What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love creating video content. There's nothing more exciting than a fresh client brief offering up a new challenge, as every client and every project is so different. I have been lucky enough to go absolutely everywhere to film content, from Russia to Brazil to Baseldon, bouncing around out at sea, up cherry pickers and down coal mines. At the same time, developing messaging for a company, creating graphics that really hit the nail on the head, and feeling proud of the end product whatever the subject matter, is also what it is all about.
What inspired you to start your own business?
What motivated me to work independently was to offer me the opportunity to dive into all sorts of different types of work, from projects for individuals, to ones for large companies. The effect has also been to stretch my skill-set and allow me to keep learning.
Why should our clients choose you?
I would love to help clients with projects large or small as I am able scale my involvement up or down relative to what is required. If there is a video to produce, through planning, shooting, post production and graphics, I can certainly manage the whole process. Otherwise, I am happy to do any part of it that might work for the people I'm working with.
