We had a backyard wedding. We wanted it to be causal and elegant at the same time. CurioCity Catering completely understood our vibe and was able to create a catering experience that was just that. Choosing a venue space that is not specifically made for wedding can be tricky and because of this we had to rely on our caterer for multiple services. Jason’s team was our caterer, our bartenders, they helped convert the space from ceremony to reception, they cleared the tables, they took care of all of our barware and utensils. Side note**We choose to use the verterra fallen leaf dinnerware which looks almost like a rustic bamboo. Loved this! It’s biodegradable and looks amazing. Jason’s teams service was all around excellent. Beyond the service, the food was incredible. We loved everything at our food tasting. It was actually hard to pick which items because everything was so good. We ended up going with the sliders, lamp chops, max&cheese, and strawberry goat cheese salad. So good! Curiocity was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator. We went to a tasting and were wow-ed with how amazing this food was. We booked them for our wedding, which was this last weekend, and were wow-ed even more that it was even better than the tasting!! Beautiful, upscale food with classics like sliders, Mac and cheese, and summer salad. Every guest took the time to tell us about how amazing the food was, and I couldn't agree more! I really wanted to give them 5 stars but... Service was great, from the day of the tasting to the day of the event. Shawnta is the best! The day of the event, one of the staff didn't not show up, putting them a bit behind the curve (however they allowed me to use what I had paid for that person as a tip so it worked out). I originally booked them for 75 people but then changed it to 65 (but I kept the dinner portion at 75ppl) with no issues. I ordered the cheese board and lamb lollipops for cocktail hour. The cheese board had a good selection but the way it was displayed needed some work, looked a bit cheap. The lamb was amazing, unfortunately some of my guest didn't get any because the servers ether didn't get to everyone or they were stopped by the same people multiple times. For dinner we had the strawberry salad, sliders, parmesan fries and crab risotto. Slider and fries we are amazing and cooked perfectly. All portions were just right. I was under the impression that the salad was to have coco covered almonds, which it didn't and had much less goat cheese than it had when I had it at the tasting, it almost looked like it was replaced by parmesan or something. The big disappointment was the crab risotto. I am not a crab person but at the tasting it was amazing, so knowing that others love seafood it thought it would be a big hit. With so many delicious choices it was hard to narrow down exactly what to serve but Jason was extraordinary at listening and narrowing down the selection. We had a great time with Jason and his crew! Â Jason was the perfect fit for our event. Â He listened to our requirements and presented a simplified list of options that would work for our unique event. Â This is what won us over from his competitors who dumped long menus on us and asked us to do figure out what would or would not work without any intimate knowledge of each item. Sooooooo my friend/neighbor calls and asks me to find a catering company to help make his 50th special! Talk about pressure! Nothing I can't handle though! I reached out to 3 companies! Curiocity not only got back to me quickly, Shawnta Wiley was amazing. The other 3-companies were slow to respond! I'm a super detailed person and like to hash out the vision, food, and make sure the vision is in alignment every step of the way! Shawnta nailed it. Not only was the process great but the execution flawless. The food was amazing and of course I got to be the hero! Lol! We decided to have to food truck walk around and pass out appetizers and let me tell you, that's the way to do it, no lines and as guests we are talking, snaking on the yummy cheese crackers platter they set out and being served yummy food! My husband hired them to cater my 50th birthday at our home. Â They set up their truck in the driveway and walked around our yard and house with trays of food. Â They also also set up a beautiful cheese platter w/ crackers on a table in the backyard (I wish I had a picture to post!) We had salmon tacos, sliders, strawberry salad and truffle fries. Â Shawnta was responsive and great to work with in picking out the menu, and Jason and his staff were friendly, professional and dependable on the night of the event. CurioCity catering catered my wedding last fall, and it was the best decision we made! Everyone loves tacos, sliders, fries, salad, and risotto served on an eco friendly dried leaf plate. The food is exceptional. Excuse me, parmesan truffle fries, not just plain ol' fries. Wild mushroom risotto, jidori chicken tacos, etc., etc. YUM!!! My wife and I hired Curiocity Catering for our wedding in April. Â Jason and his staff were great to work with. Â We really had a great experience and the food was amazing. Â Here are a couple highlights:Jason did a great job explaining all the choices and options and he even went above and beyond with some of our specific requests. Â We had a tasting meeting with him before the wedding and were very comfortable choosing Curiocity Catering. Â Leading up to the wedding, Jason was easily accessible and we often would receive emails from him prior to us having to reach out. You could tell he was working on our wedding well in advance of the date. Â I felt relieved that he was well organized and wouldn't be cramming last second. Â On our wedding day, we had a lot of guests but the Curiocity team did a great job feeding the guests in a timely fashion and the food was just as we tasted during our tasting consultation. Having a food truck at our wedding was so much fun. We served tacos and a cheese board for cocktail hour and burgers, mac & cheese, and salad for dinner. Shawnta is the most organized person and made things so incredibly easy. My only qualm was that our guests wanted a little more food so I would order extra especially if you're doing an early afternoon (3pm-10pm) wedding like we did. People are still talking about the amazing food at our wedding! I am so happy that we went with Curiocity. When we were choosing a caterer for our downtown wedding, it was really important to us to provide food to our guest that we actually enjoyed eating. Curiocity has such a fantastic selection and every item in their truck is fresh and mouthwateringly delicious. We ended up going with tray passed appetizers and sliders, fries, and salad for the main meal. The truck looked great outside our venue, and they served all 115 of our guests in under 20 minutes. The crew was so full of joy and laughter, which was such a blessing on the most joyful day of my life. (One moment that touched me was when they served a homeless man outside our wedding a plate of food.) This is a company that I am proud to support. If I could give 10 stars, I would. My husband and I chose Curiocity Catering for our January wedding based on a recommendation from a friend who had nothing but amazing things to say about them. Without hesitation, we booked with Jason and we are so happy that we did. We chose to have service from the truck because of the vibe we wanted for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. The amount of compliments we received from our guests about not only the food but the service from Jason and his crew was incredible! All night our guests made comments about how amazing the food tasted and how accommodating the staff was. Jason even used what he had to accommodate a guest that had several allergies. This review is way overdue. Jason and his team at Curiocity Catering have been our go to caterer for many years now. Not only have we had his team cater our private events at our farm, but also my father-in-law's company annual picnic several years in a row. Curiocity is also a preferred vendor for our wedding venue. Don't be fooled by the food truck. These guys are full service at our weddings and offer bartending staff, service staff and event coordination if needed. They have repeatedly gone over and above at every event and are a wonderful vendor team member. Jason and his team mates are also some of nicest, friendliest people you could ever meet. The food is delicious, hot and fresh every time. Every menu item has been elevated from the sliders, amazing salad, parmesan fries, lamb pops (my favorite), everything is delish. Jason and his team has been serving our annual holiday party for the past 5 years. We appreciate the ease of communication with Jason, which we all know can become tricky at this busy time of year. We had an Open House / Grand Opening at our business in San Marcos, Quick Charge Power LLC. We build Electric Vehicle (EV) charging equipment. Jason quoted a price for the menu that he provided. First, we intended to feed 50, then 75, then 100, then 120. It was no problem to get these changes, even as we approached the bewitching hour.The only small glitch was a call that I got an hour before the event that they would be late. I had visions of a mob of angry people demanding food, but thankfully we had #Stumblefoot Brewery behind us to keep everybody liquored up on what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year.Fortunately, the Curiosity truck was only about 5-10 minutes late, and most people didn't show up at exactly the beginning, so it wasn't even a hiccup for us.The food was absolutely "delish" (small tasty slider burgers with beef or veggie, french fries with a twist, fish tacos, and something else that I don't remember).People actually commented on the food, which was a plus on this hot day. If you want a perfect event, hire Curiocity Catering! Â Researched food trucks for our annual Del Mar Races Opening Day office party and found them through the high reviews on Yelp. Â Attended one of their tasting sessions and was thoroughly impressed with their quality and professionalism. Â The entire process prior to our event was seamless with great communication and documentation from Shawnta. Â Day of the event, Jason and Tiffany arrived on time and because our party was mainly on the roof deck, heavy hand-passing was needed. We had Curiocity cater our wedding just under a week ago and it was OUTSTANDING! First and foremost, the food is incredible. Diverse but cohesive, delicious but not heavy, adventurous but comforting. But Curiocity was even more than their amazing food. Their customer service, accommodating "can-do" attitude and attention and care allocated to the client is nothing short of exceptional. Wow, Wow, WOW! Â Jason and his team had been recommended to me as an option for our 10th wedding anniversary party, and once we went to one of his tastings, my husband & I were hooked on the presentation and the quality of simple food served. Â Then during the party, our guests were equally impressed with the quality of the food and the pleasant staff who served everything on trays. Â From the sliders to the tacos to the strawberry seduction salad to the truffle fries-- and then when people had the amazing ahi wonton dish-- well, to say the least, our party was a HIT! Well holy cow, hands down the best sliders I've ever had. I'll actually stalk their Facebook page when I get the craving, something about the sauce and pickles. And yes, the truffle fries are the real deal, crisp to the last bite. Jason is incredible to work with, I had him come to a parking lot off the beach to feed me and my friends for my birthday on July 4th weekend. When I first starting planning our destination wedding, I had a vision, an idea of the wedding I wanted. I wanted a very specific food truck which would help set the tone for the "outdoorsy/backyard BBQ" style wedding I was going for. Curiocity helped my vision come to fruition. We worked with Shawnta from day one (and even brought her on as our coordinator) and they were absolutely great. Curiocity worked with us to get the price within our budget but still accommodated everything we wanted: apps, water station, coffee station, cheeseburgers and one of the best orders of french fries I've ever had- and don't get me started on their Strawberry salad! We did service from the truck and it was so much fun. Our guests loved it! We received so many compliments on how good the food was. Our guests even went as far as taking selfies with their favorite cheese! Curiocity was everything I wanted. Not only did Jason come and congratulate us before the truck took off but Curiocity even surprised us with the appetizer we really wanted (but had to cut due to costs). We had no idea until the day of- a fantastic surprise! They are professional, delicious and I would 100% recommend them.
