Cumberland was very helpful. They got me into school, piano classes, volunteer work,at into church. They made plans for the kids for when they left the placement. They had alot of fun activities you did every Friday and Saturday. The staff took residents out one day and month to spend quality time with their kids. They had a good level system. The environment and property was really clean and nice. They had alot of activities for Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, summer. The place was amazing till they fired all staff and put rude staff who would belittle kids. That's the only problem with the place. I recommend Cumberland. More...

I grew up at this home from my 6th grade year until I graduated high school in 1989. They were absolutely helped me to graduated high school and college at UNT. They gave me the confidence to know that I was worth sooo much. I know have a child who is doing great in high school. I will always be grateful for what they did for me. I loved the summer trips that we went on all over the United States. Yes I am older but I still have awesome memories from growing up there. I believe that having houseparents, as we called them, who were trained to understand what we were going through as children and teens of difficult families made a huge difference to me. More...

The local MHMR staff recommended Cumberland to me two years ago, stating they'd even direct their friends there. That level of trust persuaded me to check them out, and I am so glad I did. If you're looking for some truly outstanding empathy and a judgement-free space, this is it! I have nothing but gratitude for the time spent and lessons learned with these folks, particularly Kali and Jason. To those unsure and still reading, good luck, and I hope you have as great of an experience as I did. Thank you. More...
