Traveling in NYC and being vegan, I find it hard to find Amazing vegan food on the go. This place is it! With a great variety of healthy and “comfort” food to choose from. Both these options pictured were fantastic. The grilled cheese with Vegan provolone, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto w walnuts - just and the falafel - A fresh, crisp, full authentic flavour sandwich with amazing sauce! The fries are as well. Cute place with lots of options (including many gluten free and vegan options). The food was great and flavorful - we had a black bean mushroom burger and one of the cauliflower bowls. The woman who took our order was super patient and understanding about all of our food restrictions and allergies (and we had a lot lol). She even called Claudette herself (I think) to make sure the burger didn't have nuts in it. We really appreciated that and will definitely make sure to come back on our next trip. Also, they have buckets to give money to pet shelters and a "pay it forward"-esque board where it seems you can tack on receipts of meals or drinks that you buy for strangers. I ate at the Riis Beach outpost of this restaurant while visiting the beach yesterday. This restaurant was quite literally the only one there that had a vegetarian option so I went for it. It sounds excellent so I wasn't upset I didn't have choices really, but seriously Riis beach and restaurants? It's 2019, get with it. It was the Cauliflower falafel bowl. The bowl's base was cauliflower and it has a tomato and cucumber salad, falafel, crunchy chick peas, a generous scoop of hummus, and tahini drizzled on top. It came out fast and I thought it was a huge portion and there was no way I could eat it all....except I did. It was so delicious I ate every last bite of it. I was blown away by the flavor. It was so so so so good! The crunchy chickpeas added such a great touch to every bite. The falafel was outstanding, the hummus was well made, the tahini was perfect, and the base being cauliflower instead of rice was such a great choice. I was walking away from beach cursing to myself (and in my head of course) about the annoying swimsuit netting that was bothering my thighs alllll day long. I was about to call myself an uber but by phone was at 1% battery (one of those days). I thought to myself that I could probably use a bite and enjoy a few minutes rest and luckily, I found myself three feet from Cuisine by Claudette. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly voice welcoming me in. I ordered myself a peanut butter shake (mmm peanut butter) and plugged my phone into one of the several available outlets by the window seating. Luckily I got there before the rush and my shake was ready about 8 minutes after ordering. Awesome! This is probably my favorite place to get lunch in this area. My go to is the turkey burger with feta on a pita. It is part of some type of lunch special and comes with bacon on it and a side order. I always get the sweet potato fries. It taste delicious and you don't feel like a glutton for it eating for quality anything. You can definitely tell that people take their time with the food. I also like their açai bowl but you have to remember to ask for bananas as they are not regularly put on. The quality of the food is great it is a bit on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Try it for yourself everybody I know loves the place. More...

I went to Claudette's today and got the Acai bowl it was so delicious. They gave it to me very fast.  I been to other places in Rockaway for a acai bowl not going to name any places and waited a half hour for my acai bowl it's not a thick porterhouse steak it should only take a few minutes. This place is the best in the area for solid, healthy food regardless of cuisine. Main entrees with veggies, fish, salads etc. , smoothie bowls and juices, coffee, pastries, cupcakes (overwhelming majority are vegan), smoothies. The coffee is decent, definitely better than the Dunkin' Donuts few blocks away. My second time here. Takeout and delivery, so if you didn't pack food for the last minute beach trip, the cafe is right by the way for you to actually get your money's worth on something that's actually good for you and tastes great! Was there yesterday and can't wait to go back!  The place is so nice; small, but super cute.  Not much seating capacity and barstool/counter seating not so comfy.  Nevertheless, I had grilled cheese #3 (avocado, mozzarella, red pepper flakes) and it was so delish!  I love that it comes with a cup of tomato soup, which was delish too!  I tasted two different Acai bowls; they were pricey, but also delicious.  A recommendation I have is that you should freshen up the bathroom.  Can't wait to try your cauli rice dishes and desserts! So I am a Claudette junkie and I LOVE so many things on the menu. Today I had to feed my dad lunch and dinner. I got him the grilled cheese, red pepper flakes, and Avocado for lunch. He’s had it before and LOVE it! For dinner he had the Salmon and shepherds pie as a side. He said it isn’t worth a 5 star rating it is off the charts was so amazing!! We decided to explore the outer reaches of Brooklyn on a quiet Sunday winter afternoon and happened on this delightful restaurant. They have delicious sandwiches, bowls and soup as well as shakes, coffee drinks and more. It is great for vegans and anyone who wants healthful delicious food. A must visit for your beach day. This was a great find and I'm so glad I tried it the last time I was at Rockaway Beach. It's right off the boardwalk and it's the perfect place to get lunch while the sun's too hot. There's plenty of seating inside for shade but they also have outdoor seating if you want to continue soaking in the heat. I ordered the Monkey Bowl while my sister got the Rockabowl. We couldn't believe how big these bowls were! They give you a huge portion and it's still only $10, which is what you'd expect to pay for ones half the size anywhere else in the city. My bowl had a banana/almond milk base topped with their homemade peanut butter (SO thick and chunky), granola, hemp seeds, and strawberries. The granola was my least favorite part because it was too plain but the rest was delicious. The açaí base in my sister's bowl was the thickest I've ever seen it and looked more like sorbet. They must not put in a lot of almond milk, meaning you get more açaí superness for your money-awesome!I wish I could have returned for dinner. They have a lot of great vegan options such as a homemade walnut bulgur burger and an array of different cauliflower rice bowls. They offer their burger as well as sides and dips in the back deli part of the cafe if you want to bring some home. They also have an entire bakery case with a few vegan choices. One of the only vegan friendly restaurants among these jacob riis beach vendors. Got the caulafel from the cashiers recommendation - cauliflower rice, hummus, falafel, salad, and tahini sauce. The hummus was so so good! I wish I got the other option that had just hummus and chickpeas because the falafels werent that tasty (slightly hard). But the rice and veggies were very refreshing on a hot summer day. Had a pleasant kick of mint / arugula too.
