I can't speak highly enough of everyone at Crystal Springs Catering, especially Stacy Rock. Stacy made planning for our event a seamless experience and we felt at ease in her very capable hands. She was knowledgeable, responsive and fun, and her fantastic taste helped so much when we had trouble making decisions. She added special touches to our event on the day, which were very much appreciated. Crystal Springs Catering did a phenomenal job catering our wedding reception at the San Mateo County History Museum. They were the very first group to call us back after we sent our inquiries for quotes and we never looked back. They had the challenge of cooking for both Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese guests and pleasing both parties, and they succeeded! Many went back for seconds and all of our guests were very happy with the top-notch quality of the food.

I also really have to give a huge shout-out to Katie for coordinating everything (and I mean everything from table counts, guest numbers, decorations, all my super-detailed questions) with us over the last 6 months solely via email as we live on the East Coast, to Sharon and Stacey, our day-of event managers, for keeping everything running smoothly and with bright smiles, and of course Bob for overseeing everything and putting so much thought and care into the whole evening. They really helped keep the entire night low-stress! Going with Crystal Springs Catering is one of the very best decisions we have done for our wedding (held about less than a week ago). First of all, their food was AMAZING! We still get continuous compliments from all our wedding guests and it was so great that I know quite a few had to ask seconds (or thirds) of their food. Everything was delicious! Our top two crowd favorites are: Mushroom Ravioli and Prime Rib. Omg, I kind of wish they have a restaurant close to us. My now-husband does not like mushrooms at all but he absolutely loves their ravioli. We also love prime rib and we would go try them every chance we get and let me tell you that their prime rib is on our top 3 best prime ribs we've ever had! Next, they are a family owned company and that said, a lot of thought and care was put into our event. Bob, his family and his team are friendly, easy to work with and are very professional. Their service was excellent! They definitely made our wedding less stressful, made our guests happy and were able to bring life to our vision.We had our wedding at the San Mateo County History Museum, which on its own, presented much challenge since there are 2 floors to cover for the entire reception. If that wasn't enough challenge, we also went DIY crazy. We did everything from our centerpieces, registration tables, seat cards, favors and also, the wedding cake! It was a ton of work but Bob, Lisa (in house event manager) and the whole team were able to execute all that we asked for!Without a doubt, they went above and beyond our expectations (which was already high after we have tasted their prime rib!)Last but not the least, their prices/services are fair... quite inexpensive actually! We absolutely got 5-star quality of food and service without breaking the bank!We would hire them again in a heartbeat!!! Crystal Springs Catering did a beautiful job catering our son's christening for about 60 guests at our home this weekend.  This was the first time we hired caterers and were recommended to them by a friend . Bob guided us through the process and was even here to set up the food the day of! We presented Crystal Springs Catering with an interesting challenge: design a carnival themed menu for a wedding that took place in a museum. There was limited kitchen space and additional food vendors involved. . .and they were able to come up with some out of the box problem solving!Bob went out of the way to punch up the personality as well. All the wait staff were dressed to match the carnival theme. Some of them even wore balloon hats. They managed all of the bars and food stations with easy aplomb. They even made sure we ate by pulling us aside and walking us through the food stations.Lastly, our wedding party was full of dietary restrictions: gluten allergies, vegans, vegetarians, nut allergies, dairy allergies, and more. We have been using Crystal Springs Catering for a holiday parties for our tenants for a couple years now! Bob and his team recently catered for a holiday dessert party for about 1,000 people. The desserts were delicious, and the quality was really good as well. Our tenants really enjoyed all of the wonderful holiday décor/presentation. I have used CSC for three events: a birthday party, my wedding, and an anniversary party.  I go back to CSC for the value and quality of the food, but I do have to say, the communication back and forth with CSC leaves something to be desired.  Read on for my experiences.FOOD--FOUR STARS:  The food is quite good for the value.  Not what I would call "mass produced" like some catering company food can taste like.  The food will leave a lasting impression on any client's guests--just think about how many times people will leave a wedding and talk about rubbery chicken!  Their food tastes freshly made.  They have a huge selection of menu options: I had a BBQ-themed menu for a birthday party, a full-service sit-down dinner for my wedding, and tabled hors d'oeuvers for an anniversary party.  I worked off of their suggested menus/options, and also made special requests, and CSC was very willing to work with my ideas.VALUE/PRICE--FIVE STARS:  Excellent value for the area.  I did a lot of research into caterers for my wedding, and I can tell you that CSC is well-priced for the quality of the food.COMMUNICATION--THREE STARS: CSC would often take days to return phone calls or e-mails.  I would ask specific questions about logistics or menu options and receive responses that did not address what I was inquiring about.  Especially when it came to catering the wedding--the vibe was one of "don't worry, we've done this before, just be the bride and let us take care of it."  That is probably a good approach with many clients, but not for me.  I appreciate being kept in the loop and consulted with regarding the events I am having catered.  Once I learned that I had to be pro-active and be the one to initiate follow-ups, I felt more included in what was going on with my orders. Bob and his team catered our office pizza lunch for 100. The crew of 7 arrived on time, got to work immediately, and operated like a well-oiled machine. They were the most professional, polite, and competent catering staff I've experienced. Bob was also terrific in helping us figure out the menu, and he was very understanding and accomodating of our special needs. Like some of the other reviewers, I thought the price was on the high side. Crystal Springs just catered our 35th High School Reunion. All I can say is THEY WERE FABULOUS!!! From the early stages of planning through the clean up. ..they were by far the best caterer I have ever worked with. The food stations were kept full of good hot food, the decorations were perfect, the food itself was yummy and exactly what we were looking for. They handled our crazy bunch with professionalism and patience. They kept control over the entire event leaving our committee to enjoy the festivities and not worry a bit. I have worked with Crystal Springs Catering for each of the last 3 years putting on a donor and volunteer appreciation dinner/event for our independent school -- Debby and her team are incredibly professional, prepared, flexible -- an all around joy to work with!  They have provided appetizers, dinner, desserts and drinks - this year our group was over 100 people - and they have done wonders while staying within our budget.  The level of service provided and the quality of the food are truly second to none.  The guests have remarked to me for weeks afterward how fabulous the event was -- especially the food!  Everything is artfully arranged - from the placement of the food to the table settings -- it is all just lovely!  I would HIGHLY recommend Debby and Crystal Springs Catering to anyone hosting a gathering - large or small.  You will not be disappointed!
