CRU is THE BEST FOR WEDDINGS. Leading up to the wedding Jenna worked with our event rental to make sure we had sufficient glassware/tables etc as our numbers changed. The food was amazing, the staff was SO NICE. We could not have been more pleased thank you so much to your entire staff!

Cru catering is hands down the best! They are up front and honest with how much food you will need and their on site crew was so helpful throughout the wedding. Most amazing food and company in Charleston! People still comment to this day about our wedding food. We eat at Cru downtown every chance we get while visiting Charleston, and I knew there was no other company I wanted to cater my wedding.

The entire team at Cru Catering was a pleasure to work along side. Additionally, the food was outstanding (still dreaming of those crawfish empanadas! ) From cocktail hour to late night french fries - chef stations and a cheesecake bar - our guests were so, so satisfied with the incredible food. Jenna coordinated both the catering and rentals for us. She never missed a beat and was a joy to work with. The entire staff on wedding day radiated positivity and fun. Our station chefs even stepped out on the dance floor at the pleading of some of our guests! The bartenders were all smiles and made every one feel welcome. Cru is Exceptional!

We were married at Legare Waring House on Apr 24, 2015. Our wedding planner, Sara Cavallon, referred us to Cru Catering. We live in Baltimore, so it was crucial to make a well-informed decision during our limited visits to Charleston. From the start, Jenna from Cru was outstanding! She listened to all of our requests and sought to understand what we really wanted our guests to experience. She gave great suggestions and was sensitive to our budget and guest list. When we attended the tasting, we knew from the reviews and the word around town that the food was going to be good. But, we were not prepared for how AMAZING the food actually was! We were all blown away! The main chef and the pastry chef came in several times during the tasting, always willing to take feedback and make suggestions to develop the perfect menu. We decided to have passed appetizers for the cocktail hour, 4 stations, an assortment of pastry desserts, and late night passers.

We felt like we were in great hands after the tasting. A couple of my husband's requests for the day of the wedding were to make sure all food was served hot and that our guests wouldn't have to wait in long lines at the stations. Jenna and Cru Catering managed these requests and beyond! All food was served piping hot and our guests did not have to wait! The whole staff from Cru was professional, hard working, and conscientious! They were just fantastic!!

For the stations, we ended up going with beef tenderloin, 4 cheese Mac and cheese, a pan seared white fish, and a pig roast chef station. Our guests were blown away, professing to us that this was some of the best food they ever had, let alone the best wedding food! They raved about the Mac and cheese station and said the fish was out of this world! And all of the sides that came with the stations (and there were many) were cooked to perfection! And the guests said for the cocktail hour, that everywhere they turned there were servers waiting for them to sample food!

After dinner, the macaroons and pastries were a delicious treat. Our guests loved the mini cheesesteaks and the chicken and waffles served late night! After the reception, we got back to our hotel to see a whole cooler bag filled with everything they served at our wedding and even had a bottle of champagne included!

Cru is a truly remarkable catering company. Jenna and team are exceptional, and the food was out of this world!! Our guests were so thrilled and that made us so happy!! Jenna and the Cru Catering team are amazing! I'm a wedding planner and I have clients from Detroit getting married in Charleston this May. Although my clients ultimately decided to be married at a venue that provides in-house catering, the Cru team was amazing to work with when we researched our catering options in the area. They were prompt and professional and very sweet and accommodating, listening to my clients' specific requests and making multiple edits to our quote along the way. Although I can't speak for the food (I've heard its to die for!), working with Cru was wonderful, and I'd recommend their team to anyone looking for a unique and classy experience! More...

Thank you John Zucker, Reilly Marotti and the entire staff at Cru Catering for the fabulous food & service at our daughter's reception at the Thomas Bennett House on Friday 11/3! ! Rave reviews from our guests - beginning with passed hors D'oeuvres, through small plate stations and delectable desserts! Everything was on point!! Bartenders and servers were friendly and professional, the presentation of the food was as exceptional as it's taste.

Reilly was super to work with through out the entire planning process. She answered all our questions, made changes up to last minute uncomplainingly and really listened, understood and helped deliver an exceptional celebration.

I would recommend Cru without reservation and will use them again next time we have a party to plan! More...

Wow! Amazing! Called them literally one week before my Christmas gathering for approximately 30 people on 12/20/17. So accommodating & pleasant to work with! They arrived on time, went straight to work prepping food & setting up the displays, prepping our supplied drinks & making Santa's Little Ho Ho punch. The food was phenomenal & staff was so sweet! I was particularly impressed with how well they cleaned up when done for the night. So nice to know we have people in Charleston that can make it happen in a pinch when it comes to food & beverage! To work with Cru Catering and also be a Cru bride is and was an absolutely amazing experience. To know the behind-the-scenes work, effort, and commitment that is put towards every event is truly admirable. I was honored to have Cru cater my wedding. They truly made the event so memorable. All of our guests are still raving about the food and hospitality. Our guest list included seafood fanatics from New England, local southern cuisine lovers, and cattle farmers from Colorado. Each appetizer and station appealed to everyone’s taste buds and was an experience that created outstanding reviews. Our guests are still raving about the tuna tartare, champagne margaritas, halibut, praline encrusted chicken, mac and cheese (the list goes on!). I have used Cru Catering for a large event and for a small dinner party. At both events, the food and service were exceptional. Chef Elliott Menke is phenomenal. He made my husband’s birthday party unforgettable from the appetizers to the poached pear dessert. The assistant chef, Tom Shaw, was also great, as were the event coordinator, Beth Lewis, the server, Audrey Padula, and Kristen Pentland, the Catering Director. Everyone went above and beyond their roles and exceeeded our expectations. They were all very professional and nice. As a Charleston native, I had been familiar with Cru Catering for a long time. I had always heard they were the best of the best in catering. I never realized how good they really were until our tasting. They absolutely blew us away with the quality of their food - five stars! We wanted to do something different than stations, so we went with a family style dinner. The service and the food were impeccable! Top two favorites were definitely the beef short ribs and mini tacos. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them. Jenna ensured that my husband and I were well fed during the reception. CRU - the whole team and every member are rock stars! We had a destination wedding at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall - so the whole kitchen had to be created, set up and in full operation under a pop up tent in the parking line. The CRU team killed it! Best execution of a caterer i have ever used. From helping with menu selection, tasting lunch of every dish, creating my own family recipes, speciality bar selection and speciality drinks, cocktail hours specialty drink, Full Out Pig Souther Pig Roast with all the sides, Amazing mac and cheese, amazing selection of appetizers, fresh local caught and sustainable pan seared fish, steak and truffle frites, hand passed shucked oysters, specialty small desserts and the wedding cake! the team of chefs and the CRU staff was amazing, accommodating, professional and very responsive to all our requests and criticisms. Hands down the best Charleston catering company. I am a photographer and I have shot their food 100's of times. Looks and shoots great! Very professional and well-groomed catering team. They have the resources to make you relax knowing your event is taken care of. Not like others that just have one shady van or prep in a small kitchen. I can't say enough great things about this company and their service. They catered our May wedding and it was the best part of our whole experience. The tasting was super fun and fully representative of how our day would go. The service throughout the whole experience was top notch. Cru helped us craft the tastiest menu that was able to reach all of our guests. We set our budget and they really helped us get the most for our money. AMAZING! Anyone that has eaten at Cru Cafe knows how incredible their food is and their catering is NO exception! Everything was so amazing, everyone was raving about the food and the service at our wedding! They paid special attention to my groom and I all night and it was all so amazing! They offer plenty of options and there was DEFINITELY something for everyone! We had a plated salad and then a buffet for the remainder of the food, which was all amazing and it was a great choice to have the plated salad so people could enjoy that before heading to the buffet! We also had Cru do our desserts and they were INCREDIBLE!! We had planned at first to get a cake and dessert elsewhere but after our tasting, we decided we couldn't resist the mini desserts that Cru offers and that was a GREAT decision for us. We had three different kinds of Macaroons and two other mini desserts and our guests LOVED everything! They also sent us to our hotel on our wedding night with a SIZEABLE to-go bag packed with a LOT of leftover food for us to enjoy for the next few days! Jill Christy and the staff at Cru Catering did the most amazing job for my Daughter Ashton and her groom Eric this past weekend at Founder's Hall. The wedding was a superhero themed wedding and the amount of planning and preparation from every little detail to calming the mother of the bride, Jill did the most amazing job! I wanted to thank all of you who were involved in participating in the dream wedding for Ashton and Eric . It was a beautiful event, the food as nothing but AMAZING!
