I was there when CMA was still new, to be honest yess it does suck to be sent away. But i really has so much fun, you get to meet new people everyday in a different culture, and people for the US come and visit every once in a while and you make lifelong friends. The food was delicious since it’s all homemade by real native moms. What did suck is that the school prioritized the girls, but other than that I had so much fun. We went on hikes every week, we would go out to the river a lot and exploring and finding waterfalls of our own, with their naturally made slides or big jumps. They even took us to the beaches every once in a while, and let me just say if I wasn’t in that school I would be living at one of those beaches. Sure they make us work a lot too, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have fun at the same time. We rebuilt a bridge in a local community named Hippolito, and its crazy how much the school provides to a local community. I helped clean and reorganize the library, and we played ping pong every single day. We’d have tournaments and with all the church groups visiting the tournaments got really big. Overall the stories I’ve heard while I was there and on this page are part of the past and they are not relevant today. CMA are doing everything they can to help the students with a therapist, and as an accredited school it wouldn’t be bad to finished high school there although you’d be missing proms and stuff like that. It’s a beautiful country, and I’m sure Richard Raposa is still there keeping the school clean and giving the students tasks and a hard time. I want to go back More...

THIS IS A NEW PROGRAM First, our prayers and sympathy to Scott and others who were treated badly at this location in the past. I am sorry to hear about your experiences at CMA under the previous management. Certainly, your reviews gave us pause before sending our son there. However, after talking to the Crosswinds staff and getting comfortable with the program, we decided to send our son to CMA for the summer. What a GREAT decision that turned out to be. The staff is very professional and dedicated to the spiritual, academic, physical and emotional growth of each child. My son loved his time there and can not wait to go back. The rest of our family appreciated the respite and counseling provided. If you are looking for a place to send your son or daughter to get help, you should strongly consider CMA. Please don't let actions of the previous managers keep you from finding peace for your family. More...

Christy Phend and Ashley Licari got my family set up with an amazing therapist named Shanna when we were struggling with severe behavior with our daughter. My daughter instantly bonded with Shanna and it was an amazing experience. She helped us learn how to help our daughter and I will always be thankful for this company. More...
