Architectural Services

Such a great service. Made everything simple and couldn’t help enough. Plans were drawn up and comments acted on within a day or two. Plans submitted and they are even monitoring the planning application on my behalf. Really made the process stress free and gave an honest professional view at all times. Couldn’t thank Joe enough, would use again. Great value for money. More...

We would definitely recommend CROE Architects. We hired Joe to remodel our chalet bungalow and add a loft extension. His design went beyond our expectations of what was achievable and we are looking forward to starting the build in June. He has been supportive from the start and always on hand to provide advice. A pleasure to deal with. More...

We hired Joe to design a side return extension on our Victorian terrace. He made a mistake with measurements which has resulted in a significant change to the building and design, adding significant extra cost and time to the build.
I accept that people make mistakes but when we made Joe aware of the issue he made no effort to amend it, I had to chase him to get him to speak to our builders. Overall I felt that our job was considered as too small to warrant attention and as such it was rushed and due diligence didn't happen.
Joe has not responded our attempts to contact him hence writing this review.

We have recently completed our grade 2 Listed extension, designed by Joe and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Joe has been on the end of the phone (and on site) every step of the way, answering question, redesigning when required and generally offering support for such a sensitive build! We have had so many visitors saying how sympathetic yet modern the extension is! We are over the moon, so much so we are on to our next project, our barn conversion - also designed by Joe! More...

This company are great !!! Craig was in charge of our refurbishment in Royston
And he looked after every aspect to achieve planning .
What was really good there terms were stated very clearly before we made the decision to go with them .They are very reasonable compared to other architects ,and there were no hidden cost .
Craig is a lovely young man and does not force you down any road you don't want to ,and allows the client to have as much imput as you would like .we felt if we changed our minds about any aspect he kept very cool ,considering the demands we applied !!!!! Give them a ring ,you'll see what we mean !!!

I would definitely recommend using Croe Architects. We have been working with Joe on our double storey extension. Joe understood our vision for our house and his drawings really helped us visualise what we could do. The builders who have seen the drawings have all commented on the detail and how good they are. Joe was always on hand to answer any queries and quick to respond. Planning was approved and we are just entering week 3 of our build, can't wait to see the end result! More...

We hired CROE Architects, specifically Craig, to design our 1.5 storey extension at the back of our property in Letchworth and we can't recommend him and CROE highly enough, they've been fantastic from start to finish!

Craig's was always at the end of the phone, morning noon or night, if we needed to ask him any questions (and believe me when I say we had loooooads of questions!). We even made some minor alterations to the drawings on a couple of occasions, which Craig was more than happy to talk through with us and amend at no extra cost; he treated the extension as if it was his own; he cared that everything was spot on.

They say you get what you pay for with things like this, but these guys are very well priced and the service was exceptional. We'll definitely be using CROE again in the future, we can't fault them. Thanks a lot, Craig!

We used Croe architects to help us remodel and extend our Victorian terrace in London. I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. From start to finish, all our questions were answered in a professional way. We dealt with Joe who carefully listened to us when drawing up our plans, took care of the planning stage so we had nothing to worry about, and went over and above during the build to check on us and respond quickly to our queries. We’ll definitely be using Croe’s services again for further projects. More...

Q&As

Most new buildings or major changes to existing buildings will require consent from the local planning authority (known as planning permission). Minor alterations and extensions to a home may comply with permitted development regulations and planning permission may not be required.
Works to listed buildings, and buildings within conservation and green belt designated areas require greater care and attention. CROE Architects has the experience to offer practicable advice for projects of this nature, to obtain the required Planning and/ or Listed consent required for these works.

Services

From the initial conversations we take time to understand the initial brief, but to also understand the clients. This helps to create a detail brief from which we begin our work.

From residential, plots, industrial land and existing offices, we can develop a feasibility study looking at the suitability of each plot for possible conversion, or extra units. This can then lead on to pre-applications or full planning applications depending on project.

Concept design with cost estimates, keeping the project within reach of the clients budget, through to detailed design required for planning application.

CROE Architects work with the latest 3d software, this allows us to work on large projects with multidiscipline team, but also enables us to produce photo realistic renders, should it be requested by either the clients or planning officers.

From your more standard building regulation package through to your comprehensive tender package, we can develop packages for all budgets. These packages help keep control of the project budget and allow the client to make decisions before the project gets to site.

CROE Architects can manage the contract between the client and chosen builder. We are able to suggest the right contract for the project, as well as monitoring the build on site. This makes sure that the project is being built properly and to the standards we set., while also making sure the correct payments are made to the contractor at the correct times.
