The dessert menu is unchanged but there is a reason for that. The caliber is excellent and consistent. Why change? You can indulge in a chocolate fix or something different like the James Beard award  winners. There are cookies not listed on the menu. Check the counter. The sun dried tomato tart is sinfully flaky. With just the right amount of goat cheese. Parking can be problematic. It is worth the walk. More...

I found this spot in the suburbs of St. Louis. The owner is a baker and I will tell you the bread and biscuits were simply amazing. He also did a demonstration for our group in the kitchen of ravioli making which was superb. Simple brown butter and perfectly cooked butternut squash and lemon ravioli made a perfect starter. For dinner I picked an a vegetarian green curry which was excellent. Certainly not a Thai curry but it was an excellent choice for my mood. For dessert the strawberry shortcake with biscuit really topped off the night. Nothing better than the cut of subtle lemon zest in a mess of fresh strawberries and creme over a perfectly seasoned biscuit. Delight! More...

I would say Cravings is an accurate name for this place as I have not stopped thinking about and craving the strawberry shortcake I had there last night. We went for the wine pairing night and both the wine and food were delicious and it was a very enjoyable evening. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable and you felt more like you were at an intimate dinner party than a restaurant. I also attended a cooking class several weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. I will definitely be back, if not to just stock up on strawberry shortcakes! More...

A GOURMET GEM!   I purchased the "hazelnut genoise torte"as my hubby's birthday cake.  Serve this upon your finest cake display trivet . .. what a showstopper!  View the layers...Hazelnut sponge cake, cappuccino, cream filling, chocolate truffle topping...savor each bite.  All I heard was "MmmMmmm", in unison.  Good to the last crumb.  Served with frangelica and coffee. I was on the run all day, and took a chicken curry sandwich to go. (Think "chicken salad" to the 10th degree.)  The raisins and curry played off each other for a sweet and savory circus on my tastebuds!  Healthy and truly satisfying.  Will return soon!!! More...

My favorite place to go with my family. It's never too crowded that I have to worry about whether or not I get a seat. Plus with the amazing food like the Chicken Provençal, it's a good food place in general. But my favorite part of probably the dessert. Yes it can seem a bit pricey, but it's the perfect way to spoil yourself or others. By far the best cake I've ever had, and trust me, I've had a LOT of cake. More...

We went to a 6 course wine pairing dinner here on January 19th and it was absolutely fantastic. I believe they are only open for dinner on the weekends, so I'd highly recommend making time. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side but not too loud to enjoy your company. I think they do these dinners monthly-ish but you can call them and ask. Their wine Rep was also helpful & the pours were generous. You can also order drinks from the bar. The food was excellent! Started with small samplings of roasted beets and a blue cheese app and worked its way up to a sweet potato ravioli in a brown butter sauce (mouth watering food). We also had small portions of beef stroganoff, stuffed peppers, and lamb chops. I could have eaten an entire bowl of the stroganoff and it's hard for me to find a lamb chop I don't like. Though the portions were small, I left full and satisfied. The dessert was a fudge cake with tiramisu--also delicious. Each wine complemented the dish well and you can also purchase the wines by the bottle or case for pickup at very affordable prices. 6 courses, delicious food and plenty of wine all for $55/head! Such a steal! We can't wait for the next one! More...

Cravings desserts are delicious. The head baker will not compromise on taste for appearance though. We thought this was a good thing. (As I mentioned - DELICIOUS) And they do a great cheesecake wedding cake.

But if you want a cake that's more for looks than for how yummy it is, this may not be the best choice. For us, they were perfect!

My husband and I have been going to Cravings for about 6 years now. The owner Tim did our wedding cake and just did our daughter's in December. It was the most talked about food portion of the weddings! We eat at the restaurant once a month for dinner, sometimes more often.  Cravings is one of the most underrated restaurants in St. Louis.  Yes, the décor is dated...so don't go on a night when ambience is your number 1 driver. But, if you want food that is downhome, consistently great...and I do mean great, a wonderful and caring owner who as the below reviewer says treats everyone as though he knows them, great service from our favorite server Chris, then go!And when you go for dinner, be sure to get the ravioli appetizer. You'll get soup or salad with your entrée!  A delicious hot roll with handmade herb butter...yum!  And any entrée is delicious...so choose one. Our favorite specials are the shrimp pasta, the chicken and waffles, the chicken parmesan, fried chicken, any of the salmon and pork specials...oh, I could go on! Favorite dessert, citrus torte...it's sweet! Favorite special dessert, the cream puff!Kelly Reinhart More...

Not only is this place rocking with amazing desserts but we went with a large group for dinner and it was awesome. We tried a little bit of everything. For appetizers we got Thai pot stickers, shrimp in curry sauce (special), tomato and goat cheese bruschetta (special) and sweet potato ravioli (special). Each item I wanted more of and actually we all enjoyed it so much we did order seconds! Each dinner item came with an option of soup or salad. We all ended up getting a salad. I got the Caesar salad which was a special and it was the perfect pre dinner salad and was wonderful! Then for dinner....drum roll....I got the eggplant Parmesan. This is some of the best eggplant Parmesan that I have ever had, and let me tell you I've tried it many many places. It simply melted in your mouth and the flavor with each bite full was mind blowing. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the food was considering this is known for the best part of meals....desserts! So after we all thought we had stuffed our bellies to the max, it was time for dessert. We had some of everything on the list (the joys of a big group!). My favorites were the carrot cake (rated one of the top in St. Louis), the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and then chocolate mouse. I didn't think it would be physically possible to eat as much as I did last night, but when something is so delicious, you can't help but eat it all up! It was a wonderful experience with amazing friends and I can't wait to try the wine night they have monthly!! If you haven't been there, it's worth it!! More...

I've been going to Cravings since my dad moved to St. Louis in 2002. The desserts never fail to impress, which is why we ordered two (yes two) cakes for our wedding from them. We did not go with a traditional "wedding cake" per se, but chose instead two layer cakes which my husband and I can't get enough of: (1) carrot cake (love the cream cheese frosting!); and (2) chocolate with chocolate butter cream frosting and raspberry filling. Fantastic! We knew we would love it, but the true test  was our friends and family; they loved it! Everyone wanted to know where we got our cakes. Their staff is professional which can sometimes read as cold or snobby - but I think that's the worst you can say about Cravings. Bottom line: their product is phenomenal! More...

After having delicious desserts from Cravings at the Yelp Elite event at EdgeWild, Mallory mentioned that we should go here some time because they serve food. Imagine my embarrassment to not have known that they actually serve meals here being a lifelong Webster-ite. I had never even been in. So we remedied that one Saturday. It's cute inside and we were taken care of efficiently, but not at all with any sort of friendliness. I got the butternut squash soup, plus a foccacia with mozzarella, sundried tomatoes and pesto, which came with a salad. The soup was interesting. It had a curried taste, which I wasn't expecting as it wasn't in the description, but it was ok. The foccacia was really delicious. It was like a tiny flat bread - very small- but the flavors were delicious. The salad was also very good, though beware if you hate onions because they are chopped small, and  I hate them so they were hard to remove. There is no way you can come here without having dessert. I got the turtle cheesecake brownie, which had a brownie layer, a cheesecake layer, and some caramel on top (see my pic). It was AMAZING. Best ever. I got ice cream with it, which made it even better. YUM!! I tried Mallory's apple galette, which was good, but we both agreed that we liked mine better. It is a bit on the higher price point but not bad, especially for lunch. I'll be back! More...

Ate here once for dinner and it was great, but what I really want to talk about is my wedding cake! My husband and I met with Tim Brennan, the owner (a super nice and all around great guy), and Tim helped us create our dream wedding cake!  We even had him put their homemade raspberry jam in between layers, talk about yum!  Cravings also provided the desserts for our "sweets table" which unfortunately were gobbled up before I got to try any of them!  There were a few things I made sure of on my wedding day, and one of them was that I got to sit down and eat a piece of cake, which I did! My boyfriend had a chocolate mousse tart which he enjoyed, and he's not that big of a sweets person. We loved our cake from Cravings. I picked a cake from pictures they have of different cakes they have made and they changed a few things for me based on the flowers and color scheme. The pricing was reasonable. They were a little more expensive than some of the other 'normal' cake places, but the extra expense was worth the money. We got to choose from several different types of cake and cake filling. If you are looking for GOOD WEDDING CAKE (as in, it tastes good and not like normal wedding cake), this is the place to go. We had three tiers...each tier was a different flavor. I think we had chocolate with with white chocolate filling, cranberry chocolate with a raspberry filling (or something like that) and white cake with lemon filling...sooooooo gooood. We had so many people tell us that it was the best tasting wedding cake they had ever had. Well worth the money. I can't remember the exact cost, but I think it was in the $700 category. More...

I come strictly for the almond macaroons, which are large and chewy, just dripping with almond paste.
