What can I say... this guy is completely life transforming!!Three years ago, I was highly encouraged by a friend to take my son to Craig Handwerker for counseling. Her son had significantly benefited from Craig’s counsel, and she raved about him. From Session One he was able to identify and diagnose troublesome issues. Craig also quickly picked up on some issues needing to be addressed at a family level. He has proved himself valuable as our family counselor, including marriage counseling, and individual therapy for all members. Craig has a laid back nature, and a fun, witty spirit that makes him easy to talk to, especially for adolescent boys. He provides a judgment free atmosphere where it is safe to be completely honest.I have learned of other friends, and church staff members who either have used or know Craig personally, and each one has had positive input on his character and professionalism.Needless to say, I am very pleased with Craig as a counselor, and have recommended him to others. Craig has been my counselor for over 7 years now. In that time I was married, gave birth to my second son, went through a divorce, and went through a depression after my divorce. Craig was there for me through out all these different stages of my life and if it weren't for him I would not know who I am today. Each session with Craig, helped me to understand why I felt the way I felt and how my childhood traumas were playing a role in my life. Craig was there in my darkest moments to counsel me, give me realistic advise, and he listened when I just needed someone to hear me. He has a natural way of making you feel comfortable to open up to him and has a natural calming spirit. There is so much I can say but the main thing is that because of Craig, I am a better women all around today. Craig is well respected by his peers, and he is a highly trained licensed psychologist with expertise in child and adolescent psychology. My family and I have been his clients for many years, and he has since maintained a good rapport with us. My children actually look forward to therapy sessions because Craig creates an open and honest judgment free zone where everyone feels comfortable and free to express themselves. Craig takes his client’s confidentiality seriously, so our family feels safe and we are never fearful of our information leaving the room.We are a large family with children ranging in ages from elementary to college, which includes a child diagnosed with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD); during our relocation we saw other therapists and psychiatrists, we even implemented meds, but unfortunately saw little to no progress in my child’s behavior. Eventually, we were referred back to Craig by his peers and have since experienced the most progress in my child’s behavior and a vast improvement of the relationships within our family.
