Best place for short or long term care, we had a house fire and they took 5 of our kitties and our 2 dogs and they were wonderful, 13 months to rebuild our house and C R Ranch and it's staff were wonderful and our fur kids came home safe and a little chunkier. Our dog Joey loves going to the "RANCH". They have taken such great care of him when we have been unable to take him on vacation. They have watched him for up to 30 days when we were overseas. They keep you up-to-date on any needs or concerns they may have for your pet. They get plenty of playtime and distraction while you are away. They care so much about your pets that they have even chosen to take their personal lunch breaks to just hang out with our pooch. When we tell Joey that he's going to the ranch or he even sees us packing up his bed he gets beyond excited because he knows what's about to happen. When we were looking to move out of the area we were so concerned that we wouldn't find a place like the ranch. I LOVE this place. My pup had a hard time adjusting to his stay and the staff went out of their way to help him feel comfortable. They are so sweet to him when he's there - I truly feel like they take care of my dog like I take care of my dog. Now, when I drop him off, it's clear he is happy to be there. Background information: I have two girls; Vicky Bones, a 10 year old Bichon Frise and Isabella, a six year old Maltease. I brought Vicky to CR Ranch on two separate occasions prior to this current stay. The CR Ranch employees are truly sweet, kind, and professional. I worry so much about my girls, and they don't mind me calling their office to check in to see how Vicky and Isa are doing, which is almost every couple of days! I also asked them to text me pictures of them throughout their daily activities - and they'd text me pictures of them. It helps me feel at ease to know they are being taken cared of. They even gave me a tour of their property and the actual room that they'd stay in. I like how the property is huge, which gives my two dogs lots of room to play. On the other hand, when there is rainy or cold weather, they have what they call is their "indoor play arena," in which they could use to run around in as an alternative when there is bad weather.CR Ranch also provides various discounts which helped a lot since I'm in such a tight budget. The types of discounts they offered are around 5% - 10% off of each of the following: when you bring your own dog food, military, senior, city county employee, two dogs from the same household in the same room, and more! They also provide cute "report cards" after you pick-up your pet to see how they did when they were away. I thought that added a nice in the end. I will and have continued using them! Found this place on yelp (thanks everyone) and thought I would give it a try. I ALWAYS have a sitter for my dog and have only boarded him twice prior, this was the longest he was going to be boarded so I wanted to find a place that wasn't crazy expensive but allowed my dog some freedom to play. He is a very small hyper playful Maltese and I spoil him with attention so I wanted him to give some sort of the same care. First I will say my first phone call to ask questions the lady that answered was so sweet and nice that I already know I liked the place. Then she encouraged me to come down the following day check things out for myself and fill out some forms. So I did. I then dropped Dexter off Friday and picked him up Monday, never heard a word (no news is good news). Monday he was so excited and happy, she said he was so great and got along well with everyone. I was more than pleased with the service and I know Dexter had a great time because he hasn't stopped sleeping since! Way to go CR Ranch! We took a four day trip and couldn't take our small terrier mix with us. I had major anxiety even thinking about leaving her with anyone. She's a shelter dog, and she's been through the ringer in her short life. When I called here I was immediately put at ease by Jodie. She made me feel like this would be the perfect place to leave Coco for the short time we would be gone. Spacious fenced lawns to play and run on. Coco had a private room that was also pretty large, so she wouldn't feel closed in. They insist you bring a quality dog food or they provide one for you, which shows they really care about the dogs, in my opinion. When I picked Coco up she wasn't scratching and whining to get at me which shows me she was pretty relaxed in this environment. I would definitely use this facility again or recommend it to anyone that needed to board their dog for a day or any additional length of time. Thanks again! More...

Very professional and my dog seemed to be in good spirits when I picked her up. The staff was very friendly. A little on the pricey side at 31$/day for a 14lb dog. 5% discount for bringing my own food which helped. $50 deposit that is nonrefundable if plans change within the last two days before is a tough policy. The absolute best place to take your pets for boarding. They take such wonderful care of your furry loved ones, provide tons of positive stimulation, and will even bathe them on their last day (so they are all clean when they are ready to go home). My dog has since passed (he was elderly), but he loved to visit (and he hated going places) CR Ranch. The employees at the ranch would even text me photos of my dog having fun while he was there!  When they learned my dog had passed they mailed me a card and the employees all included a memory about my dog. That is incredible service. These are wonderful people who truly are stewards to animals. I have no doubt this is the best place in the Valley to take your pet when you need to be out of town. The staff from CR Ranch Pet-O-Tel is very nice and understanding. My 1 year old yorkie loves going here and comes back home very happy. The staff from CR Ranch treats her like she was their own . CR Ranch Pet-O-Tel is the only place my partner and I would ever think of boarding our dog. We have a 6 month old pitbull who is extremely friendly and loves other dogs. Prior to being able to board him, we had to have an evaluation (which is totally understandable based on the breed of our dog). Our first impression was how clean and spacious the grounds were. The staff was so accommodating and friendly and treated our dog like it was there own. He has gone for daycare and for weekend boarding for our trips away from home that we can not bring him. They also will text video and pictures of the dog if requested which puts us at ease knowing how happy he is running around and making new friends. I wouldn't board or trust my dog anywhere else. I have had my dogs here several times. They receive the best care. I don't worry about my pets when they stare. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They know your dogs by name when you go into pick them up. There facilities are great, big spacious yards for the dogs to run and they are separated by size.It may seem a little pricey compared to others in Modesto but trust me, it is well worth the price. They are the best place, most comfortable place to leave my dogs. They kept me updated, took pictures and felt secured while I was on vacation. I cried when I left them feeling guilty. But, when I came back to pick them up they didn't want to leave. My dogs had so much fun they wanted to stay longer. They are so great with our little man! We have been on multiple trips, in and out of country, and have felt great about him being there. Even for the day care times our dog has gone, he comes back completely exhausted from excitement and playing all day! The best part is the updated pictures we get! We did a trip across the country and really missed our dog so we emailed asking for some updated pictures and we got them immediately! Staff is wonderful and friendly, just like the owner! Our 2 year old labradoodle did wonderfully here. So well we think he already misses being there! He's done both day care and 12 day boarding. The staff was great about letting him get comfortable at first and then when he did, really letting him enjoy all it has to offer. And that includes cozy condos, expansive play areas, small pools, and staff who you can tell love pets. Like many others, we were nervous first timers. My husband and I live in fresno and travel out of town quite a bit, and this is the ONLY place that I trust to take great care of my pitbull Keyla. We've now trusted the Ranch with our sweet German Shepherd at least 5 times over the last 2 years. Our girl is the timid, nervous type. The wonderful staff helped her work through her anxiety and have even started introducing her to their gentle "on-site" dogs. She has become so accustomed to the place, she comes home in the same mood as we left here. Of course excited to see us, but no tummy upsets, clinging behavior or other indicators that she was stressed.Our dog is on rx dog food, needs eye drops twice a day, and is slow to make friends with people and other animals. We traveled from Los Angeles for a wedding along the Sac River and chose Modesto as a mid point, mainly because we needed to stay at a place that was dog friendly (Doubletree downtown Modesto was excellent) and board our dogs for the wedding day. Solid kennel. We had a negative experience with another large kennel in town so this time I did my research and found CR Ranch. We have boarded our Dharma here twice now. She had a personality assessment prior to boarding to make sure she was a good fit. She is a German Shepherd and her breed is notorious for anxiety while away from their family. It was nice, she spent 4 hours with them while they determined how she would do with other breeds and different sized dogs. It was determined before her first stay that she would be a good fit to play with smaller dogs while out of her kennel. My first impression of this place was WOW! Very well maintained property with play arenas and the kennels are clean and free of pet odors. Everybody who works here seems genuinely happy to be there and they take a special interest with every animal that crosses their threshold. I felt so much better about leaving her here. The report given when you pick up your animal is extensive and they come home relaxed. With our prior experience she came home with kennel cough, itching and smelling of urine. It took two baths to get rid of the smell. That's not the case here. Not a trace of urine odor and she returned to us (both times) just as we left her. Happy and healthy. I'm happy we found CR Ranch and we will be back for all of our boarding needs. More...

The best and safest place in the world to leave your fur baby. I have a doberman pinscher who is attached at my hip and did not want me to leave him but when I picked him up a week later he didn't want to leave them. Brutus is a tough pup to watch he's always been testy and stubborn. He's also not neutered yet, so I was extremely stressed he would be in time out every day but nope! He had an excellent report card and while I was in Hawaii I received texts, pictures and videos of my kid playing and running with other dogs. I couldn't believe it. Now I fully plan to take him once a week to day care so he can socialize with his new found friends since it obviously made him so happy. More...

My family and I just recently went to Disneyland and needed a place for our Boston Terrier, Bruski.  I looked into several places and CR Ranch seemed the most happiest and had better reviews.  I was a bit nervous leaving him cuz I have never been w/out him.  When we showed up they knew exactly who he was!  They placed him in a HUGE yard while we handled paperwork.  The staff were super friendly and even their Weimaraners were nice too!!  When I returned to pick him up he was very happy and clean.  His bedding was clean too that I had left w/him.  The tech that helped check us out showed me a video of Bruski playing with Great Dane!!  He had the best time.  We will definitely use CR Ranch in the future!!!  One happy client and pet!!:) More...

We live in Reno but had to be in Modesto for a soccer game and we needed to take our hound with us.  I contacted CR and told them I needed about 3 hours of pet sitting and they were very accommodating.  We dropped our dog, attended our event and picked her back up. This is a very nice, clean facility and Deb and Angie were great!  I felt completely comfortable leaving our dog in good hands.
