I have used County Carpentry & Building for various project builds over the years from an Oak framed porch to a recent extension to the rear of our property. In both cases both jobs were a challenge due to the age of the house and poor decay to some areas of existing Oak timberwork that had to be exposed and supported with care. From day one the team took the planning and undertaking of these preliminary tasks very seriously and took all measures to insure all care and attention was placed while the first phases of the projects were commenced and carried out their work in a professional and skilled manor. From start to finish communication was excellent with weekly site meetings and updates we felt relaxed and unstressed during this time.We plan other build projects on other property’s and County Carpentry & Building Ltd will be on board with us in the future.David. Andrew fitted my solid oak flooring and it looks amazing everyone comments on it. He also fixed a lot of the problems I had been left with by previous builders I will certainly use him again and am happy to recommend him to anyone.

Andrew Tree planned and built my bespoke office studio, turning a small dining room into a really useful space. The work involved a large built in L-shaped desk, a wall cupboard and shelves. The finish is superb and I couldn't have asked for anything better, and I wouldn't have found anything better bought pre-made from a shop. Following this work I had Andrew back again to build my outdoor fence on the perimeter of my property. It was to replace a concrete and wire fence, which Andrew removed as part of the work. As it was a boundary fence it needed to be strong, with a locked gate at one end. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it was really helpful that Andrew was not only able to understand what I wanted or needed he was able to advise on better solutions and suggestions that saved me a ton! The fence encloses and area to the side of my house where my office studio is. For my next project - installing french doors from my studio out to the backyard - I've already been given some great advice by Andrew, and I will be booking him in for the work as soon as I'm able. I'm really happy with the first two projects he has completed, so I'm looking forward to the third and I wouldn't hesitate to have him back for any future work too! More...

Q&As

Any space can be converted but in all cases the structure needs to be sound and have no damp issues.
Offten a garage that joins a house is the best scenario.

First of all the main front opening door will need to be removed and a low height cavity brick wall needs to be built to house a new window for light.
Then adiquat heating and electrics will need to be installed the the walls plastered or dry lined.
Floor finish will need to be factored in. Then all second fix carpentry.
All conversions vary but most are possible.

I have been in the building Industry for over 25 years. We established County Carpentry and Building Ltd in 2017.

We guarantee all our work and depending on what type of work is carried out will issue a time length or lifetime.

Meeting people and working with them to achieve their vission of the project.

I have always been in busness for myself and wanted to expand and build a company that is based in the Southern Counties.

We are honest and up front with our clients. We may not be the cheapest quote but in case's I have seen where people have gone for the cheapest quote only to have nothing but problems and regrets. We have had to sort other builders work out far too many times.
Cheaper is not always better!
