I am a fully qualified counsellor. I offer a safe space to talk and allow each client to be themselves and accept them for who they are. I listen to each client and explore with them what they are experiencing. Through exploration, each client can understand themselves more.

What do you love most about your job?
Working with people. I have always loved working with people. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in HR in a manufacturing environment. As production and the business changed, the direction of my role also changed so I decided to start a new chapter in working with people, but a different approach.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Following a loss prior to becoming a counsellor, my perspective of life changed. I wanted to be involved in something more meaningful.
I had worked in a corporate environment for nearly 13 years where my work/life balance always favoured work. Moving to self employment was an easy transition because I discovered over the years what I didn't want from a corporate job!
My ambition was always to have my own business and to have freedom and flexibility to make my own choices. This follows the principals of the counselling I provide.
Why should our clients choose you?
I would describe myself as honest and reliable. I have a useful background of working within a HR capacity in a corporate environment so have a good business understanding but have my own personal experience of the pressures and stresses that management and organisations expect of employees. I have also worked in charity settings so have an appreciation of workplaces or settings which are reliant on funding and faced cutbacks.
In addition to my business understanding, I have experience of working with different, diverse clients. I worked with people affected by mental illness when volunteering as a counsellor for Mind. My clients presenting issues were mainly stress and depression, but some client work included those impacted by Bipolar and PTSD. In addition, I joined the volunteering counselling team at a local hospice, my clients were relatives of those who had died from cancer. This introduced me to working with loss and bereavement.
I am genuine, honest and able to communicate well with others. I am reliable, trustworthy and have a passion for working with people. I am able to accept anyone.
